Heath Slater Suspended, Booker T’s Ring Return, Why Bobby Roode Lost, Smackdown Rating

- Following Darren Young’s lead, Heath Slater has now been suspended for his first Wellness Policy violation. He’ll be out for 30 days.
- As previously noted there are plans for Booker T to return to the ring for a feud with Cody Rhodes. Booker’s official return is set for November 1st Smackdown tapings.
- Bobby Roode was originally set to win the the TNA World heavyweight title from an injured Kurt Angle at Bound For Glory, but Hulk Hogan stepped in and decided against it. He feels Roode is not yet ready to run with the title, despite ratings being virtually the same for years.
- Last week’s episode of WWE Friday Night Smackdown drew a 2.26 cable rating on Syfy.

- The final figures for what Dixie Carter and Eric Bischoff have called “highest ever Impact rating” are in, and they’re not wrong. The show drew a 1.35 rating, with an average of 2.0 million viewers.
The show featured James Storm win his first ever Heavyweight title after being with the company since its inception in 2002.
- Recently suspended WWE star Heath Slater made the following statement on Twitter:
“As most of you already know, I am going to be out of the WWE spotlight for the next few weeks. Of course everyone is going to form thier(sic) own opinions on why that is but I don’t feel the need to explain myself to all the SLATER HATERS out there running thier(sic) mouths. There R plenty of things on my mind that I would like to say to those people but Im not going to to waste my time, my breath or my energy. Instead I’m going to focus all my efforts on being the best Superstar I can be – MENTALLY AND PHYSICALLY… TO MYSELF, MY FRIENDS, FAMILY AND TRUE FANS I am truly sorry to have disappointed you. I made a simple mistake… everyone does once in a while. But trust me when I say I will NOT be making this one again. I PROMISE upon my return you will see a more determined, fearless, confident and improved person. Im going to be THE MAN I WANT TO BE. So let the countdown start…”
It’s believed he failed the Wellness Policy for using a synthetic form of Marijuana called Spice, which wrestlers have been using to relax after shows.
Ironically using the real thing results in a $2000 fine, but not a suspension.
- Speaking of Twitter Sheamus explained why he’s yet to join the social networking platform during an interview on the WWE website. He said:
“No, I’m still not on Twitter, fella. I see a lot of guys doing it, but I just don’t see the appeal. It’s not my thing. You know, I like what I do on Raw or SmackDown to be what people remember me for, not what I say on Twitter. That’s what Triple H did, what The Rock and Stone Cold [Steve Austin] did. Times are changing, but I want people to remember what Sheamus did in the ring as The Celtic Warrior, not some tweet about having a banana sandwich or chocolate milk today.”

-The Atlanta Journal Constitution has an article today about the guard claims security Corinne Oliver against Heath Slater weekend of WrestleMania 27 in Atlanta. Oliver said that she had had back pain from Slater supposedly in a chokehold and tried for taking her in his hotel room.
WWE is keep away from the situation. "The alleged victim is to make claims against Slater individually, and it is being investigated," WWE spokesman Jerry McDevitt said. "This has nothing to do with the WWE."
According to a report by the police, the alleged assault occurred between 4 and 5 in the morning on April 4 at the Hyatt Regency Hotel in Atlanta, the day after WrestleMania. Police are still investigating the matter and they have not been charges against Slater.
"Basically it says that [Slater] approached him and asked him to go to his room," said Oliver laywyer. "She said that no." He started telling her she was beautiful and kind stuff. Following who knows in a chokehold, and was dragging him and it folded back, trying to put it in the elevator to his room. "Violently had to fight to get his arm around her neck."
The woman, who is still employed by Allied Barton security, said immediately to your supervisor. After months of inactivity by their bosses, the women presented a report of police on 22 June. His lawyer says he established contact with police after supervisors told him months ago that will handle the situation.

FCW leads tour of summer Slamarama to Palm Bay with WWE Superstars Wade Barrett & Heath Slater
Port Charlotte, Fl - June 6, 2011
Florida Championship Wrestling continues its tour of summer Slamarama on Wednesday, 15 June in the Bay of Palma. Along with all the exciting in-ring action that fans of love, this program will also include a session of autograph meet and greet with Smackdown superstars Wade Barrett and Heath Slater, a competition of superstar Karaoke Idol and much more. If that wasn't enough, each fan will also receive a free pack of cards FCW Superstar.
Eight major meetings are scheduled for the event. NXT WWE Stars will be presented, as well as the current crop of superstars FCW. For nearly fifty years, FCW has been the gold standard in professional wrestling in the State of Florida. FCW is the territory of official development for the Sports Club in the world of entertainment WWE, which means that it can be seen countless FCW superstars and Divas performed weekly on Monday night Raw, Friday Night Smackdown and NXT. Favorites of fans as Ted DiBiase, Alberto of del Rio, Sheamus, Thomas Dolph, Drew McEntyre, Evan Bourne, Kofi Kingston, Jack Swagger, the Bella Twins, Natalya and many, many more - all got its start in FCW.
"When I came from England and it was only on the basis, was here in FCW I planted my roots," says Wade Barrett, in his English dialect thick. "It is a great pleasure for me to return to Palm Bay". When asked about how to perform in Palm Bay, newly crowned FCW Heavyweight Champion Bo Rotundo says that it is ready for anything.
