Brock Lesnar's Health Problems Return: Surgery Needed, Won't Fight Next Month
By Michael Bluth
May 12, 2011 - 5:28:50 PM UFC president Dana White held a conference call on Thursday to announce some "major news" - Brock Lesnar's ongoing health problems with diverticulitis have returned and he is being forced to pull out of his upcoming fight.
Lesnar had been scheduled to fight Junior Dos Santos in a #1 contenders match at UFC 131 on June 11th, but is unable to compete. He will be replaced by former #1 contender Shane Carwin.
Lesnar spoke out about his future in MMA during the media event - saying he might be forced to undergo "life changing surgery" in the near future.
Despite this news, Brock Lesnar refuses to stop fighting and vows to return to the cage once again:
"I'm not retiring. This isn't the end of my fight career. I believe there's a solution to every problem. This isn't the end of Brock Lesnar. This is a speed bump in the road."
Lesnar is being treated once again at the Mayo Clinic in Minnesota - the same facility that treated him back in 2009 when he first battled diverticulitis and nearly lost his life in the process. He insists this most recent bout with the stomach illness is not as serious as last time - but it was preventing him from training for the Dos Santos fight and he was forced to pull out.

Lesnar's Autobiography, WWE's Next Film, Piper/Cena/Orton
-- The updated synopsis for Brock Lesnar's upcoming autobiography, Death Clutch: My Story of Determination, Domination, and Survival, has been posted on Amazon.com. It reads: "Brock Lesnar has been, and is one of the most popular - and polarizing - figures in sports and sports entertainment. Whether fans love him or hate him, they never miss an opportunity to watch Brock when he squares off with an opponent. He is a celebrity of the first order, but disdains fame, avoids the media, and remains intensely private. Now, for the first time, Brock tells his incredible story in his own words. Brock relives his long journey to become the best college wrestler in the country, his meteoric rise in World Wrestling Entertainment, and what lead him to walk away from fame and fortune when he was at the top. He talks openly about the accident that derailed his plans to play in the NFL, his professional wrestling comeback in Japan, and his transformation and rebirth as a Mixed Martial Arts fighter. Fans will get an insider's look at Brock's career in the UFC - the training, the competition and what it takes to be, and to remain a champion. Brock will also talk about the illness that nearly killed him, his will to survive, and what he really values and aspires to be. Powerful and real, this remarkable memoir is the story of Brock's determination and domination, and the making of a true champion."
-- The next project from WWE Films is titled Barricade, and will have a very small $5 million budget. The drama will tell the story of a father fighting dementia while he and his daughters are trapped in a cabin during a blizzard. No WWE stars are attached to the film as of today.
-- On May 9th, WWE returns to the Birmingham-Jefferson Convention Complex in Birmingham, Alabama. Tickets go on sale March 25th at 10AM.
-- Chris Decker sent this in: You can get the Piper's Pit with John Cena and Randy Orton from old school Raw on Itunes for free. Just go to your Itunes, go to the video section and scroll down to free TV episodes and select that. Then scroll down and it'll be there with the Survivor Series picture of Orton and Wade Barrett and Cena in the middle, with a ref's shirt and it's called Piper's Pit with Orton and Cena.
