- Former WWE star Batista has posted up a blog remembering Eddie Guerrero, who passed away just over 6 years ago from acute heart failure due to arteriosclerotic cardiovascular disease, brought on by previous years of drug abuse. Batista wrote:
“Got a text from my homie @sonnyblowdro when I woke up asking me if I was ok, I assumed he was referring to Manny’s fight last night. I automatically got defensive!! Styles make fights! Manny always has trouble with Marquez!! He still won!! Then when he said he wasn’t asking because of Manny I quickly realized that today was Nov.13th….the day Eddie Guerrero was taken from us 6 years ago.
“So I’m in beautiful Tampa, Florida and the sun is shining and weather is perfect but somehow this is a depressing ass day..and I know it is for alot of other people as well. I think what bothers me most is that I never really got that chance to tell Eddie what a huge impact he made on my life and my career. Honestly, even if I had the chance to tell him, it still wouldn’t have made it any easier because the fact is that I loved the hell out of Eddie and it just plain sucks that he’s not here anymore!
“As plain as day I can still hear Angie scream and then look at me and say “i just got a message from Dr.Rios…..Eddie’s dead”. I wish I could erase that from my memory. I haven’t found closure on this. I don’t think I ever will. I know alot of people won’t. It bugs the shit out of me that there’s millions of young wrestling fans who won’t get to see how brilliant Eddie was in the ring. He’s the only guy I know who could have you in tears laughing and then make you want to rip his head off within minutes. What I personally loved most about Eddie was that he didn’t define people by their mistakes. he made alot and he never forgot that. He didn’t pass judgement…which is so common in the HOLIER THAN THOU world of the WWE.
“Eddie was also the slowest walking human being alive…which always amused the hell out of me for some reason. I don’t know how he ever got anywhere!! I could go on and on but I’ll end it by saying this. Eddie..I miss you, I love you, and you are gone but never forgotten. RIP my brother.”
- WWE have posted up a tribute to the legendary Killer Karl Kox, who passed away following a heart attack on Thursday. It’s a match between Kox and Rocky Johnson for the NWA Brass Knuckles Championship:
- A new article about former wrestling star Perry Saturn has appeared in the The Albert Lea Tribune. Since he resurfaced last year he’s slowly been working his way back in to the business.
“I’m very lucky to be a wrestler to begin with, and I screwed it up because of drugs. I’m going to make sure that if I do get a second chance, I’m going to make the most of it. I’m not going to waste it,”" he said.
“I screwed up really bad on drugs the last few years of my time in WWF, and I continued to tailspin out of control,” he said. Saturn said his drug use was the reason he didn’t immediately return to wrestling after rehabilitating his torn knee ligament.
“By then I was really bad on Nubain,” Saturn said. “One time when I was still working for the WWF, but at home with my knee surgery, they were in Atlanta. It was where I lived at the time, so you go down to the building and see everybody.
“I made it to my car, did so much Nubain that I passed out, and didn’t wake up until the show was over. I never even made it down to the arena.”
He was at the AWE pay per-view on 10/13 and wants to keep that going. Saturn, who has been drug-free for more than three years, was victorious after a sunset flip put his opponent, C.W. Anderson, on his back for the 1-2-3.
“He is a very good wrestler,” Saturn said. “It went very smooth. C.W. Anderson was great to work with.”
He has talked to guys like Dean Malinko, Triple-H, Raven and DDP for advice on how to get back into the business.
“DDP is doing far and beyond something that I expected to help me,” Saturn said. “We’re like a fraternity. Everybody is helping each other out.”

- WWE creative are looking to use Booker T in some kind of angle in the coming weeks that would require him to wrestle. Not much else is known about the plans, but it’s likely they want him to put somebody over.
- WWE referee Scott Armstrong suffered a rib injury at last Sunday’s Night of Champions PPV during a spot with R-Truth. He’ll be out for the next couple of weeks.

And the thing was, ‘She was mine before she was yours.’ It was well-written and done and Randy worked hard at it and I worked hard at it. We had a really good match. Curt Hennig, God rest his soul, managed me and Liz managed Randy and we gave them a hell of a show and it was awesome. That was my first Mania and one of the finest memories of my career.”
Flair with additional comments on Savage: “My thoughts about Randy are different. I think he was such a competitive guy. Randy had a really hard time relaxing and I feel bad. I think about the times I used to say to him, ‘Hey man, just calm down and don’t worry about this and this and this… whatever happens is going to happen.’ If you go to sleep at night worrying about what’s going to happen the next day, it’s just too hard. You know, he worked like I did, 365 times a year back in the old days.
“He actually broke in in Charlotte in 1975. I’d only been here a year when Randy moved in down here. He played semi-pro baseball, I think, in St. Louis and was doing fairly well but wasn’t blowing up the ladder like expected so he came here and broke in the business. The irony in that is when I first moved here in ’74 I actually traveled with his dad several times. I knew the whole family very well. His dad just passed recently and I think that hurt Randy really bad. They were very close.
“Randy just dropped out of sight when the company was sold from WCW (to WWE). The thing I feel worst about, of all of the guys that are available and eligible to be in the WWE Hall of Fame — there most be something that I’m unaware of that’s gone on and they’ve never inducted him because Randy certainly was a major player for the WWF in the mecca days of the eighties and ninties.”
Flair on whether Savage is one of the ten greatest wrestlers of all time: “Of course. Yeah. Of course. … I didn’t always agree with Randy. I’m not gonna lie to you. I didn’t sweat things out like he did. But I wasn’t… I didn’t have to fight like a dog in that race they had to be whoever they were in the eighties in that show, where everybody was fighting for position everyday of their life. I didn’t have to evolve from that. I never had personal differences with him, nothing about lifestyle. It was just about business and it doesn’t stop my opinion (of him) — he always did favors for me. He came in and opened some of my Gold’s Gyms.
“We were great friends. He and I clashed in business but outside of the ring we were great. He could drink beer and have a good time. And I made him laugh and helped him take his mind of things that bothered him. We got along great and had a lot of fun together. I used to say to him all the time, he probably died with 300 million dollars in the bank. I’m not exaggerating. I’m being facetious. But Randy was very thrifty. I used to say to him all the time, because he would stay at hotels that were less cost effective than where I stayed. (laughs)
“You can criticize it all you want but I’m going to enjoy the moment because you never know, you know. The irony in that is Randy was only 58 years old. That’s sad because I guarantee you he’s got enough money to live 200 more years. He made it. He worked hard to earn it. He worked very hard to earn it. He deserved it. But I always used to say to him, ‘Man, you live for the day.’ Today’s another example of why you have to live for today. You never know.”

- At the weekend Raw event event in Wichita, Kansas, Alex Riley was rehired by The Miz to ultimately lose to the team of John Cena and Randy Orton. It’s unsure if the pair will reunite on TV.

WWE Defends Smoking Angle, Kurt Angle Injured? ROH Remembers Larry Sweeney, Neidhart Arrested
- In response to anti-smoking campaigners WWE made the following announcement regarding R-Truth lighting up on the UK tour:
“The negative effect smoking has on one’s health and physical performance was a part of a storyline on last night’s Monday Night Raw. Negative depictions of tobacco use on television are not unusual and can be seen on other TV-PG shows.”

- ROH put out the following remembrance for Larry Sweeney:
“Sweet and Sour” Larry Sweeney was a one of a kind performer who riled up the fans and touched all those he became close with in his personal life. Sweeney’s compelling charisma and unique personality will never be forgotten by ROH fans and especially those friends that he was closest to.
During his time in ROH, Sweeney managed the likes of Chris Hero, Claudio Castagnoli, Davey Richards, and many more gifted wrestlers that he took to the top. Sweeney was a highlight of every ROH event that he participated in, with his strong passion and intelligence for professional wrestling showing through. Sweeney captured the attention of every fan that saw him perform in and out of the ring.
Sweeney is deeply missed by everyone in Ring of Honor and we want to pay tribute to the man with a match that we know he would enjoy with not only two of Sweeney’s favorite current wrestlers, but two very close friends.
Colt “Boom Boom” Cabana will face the “Insane Savant” Delirious at “ROH Revolution: Canada” on May 7th when ROH returns to the Ted Reeve Arena in Toronto!
Delirious has not been seen in an ROH ring since August 2010 when he suffered a very serious injury at the hands of the All Night Express. One of the most distinctive competitors in the history of ROH, Delirious and his high energy style will return in Toronto after a long 9 month absence to pay tribute to one of his close friends.
Colt Cabana has repeatedly said that he wants straight-up, hold-for-hold competition without having to worry about a dirty move or shady trick. Cabana was very excited after receiving the news of his Toronto contest and he is certain it will be a great match representing honor and the memory of an overwhelmingly talented man.
“Larry Sweeney was a showman, an entertainer and a professional wrestler,” stated Cabana. “I can’t wait to dedicate this exhibition of those three things in a match versus another pro who feels the same way. I’m sure it will be an emotional match, but we all know Larry would’ve wanted everyone to smile, laugh and enjoy every second of the match. No doubt about it.”
It will undoubtedly be a fun and exciting match to honor a brother that we have all lost. “ROH Revolution: Canada” will be a roller coaster of emotions that you won’t want to miss.
- Former wrestling star Jim “The Anvil” Neidhart, was arrested recently in Tampa, Florida for driving without a license and for operating an unregistered vehicle. He was released on a $750 bond.
Jim is of course the father of WWE’s Natalya.

- This week’s TNA Impact on Spike TV drew a 1.25 rating, which is down from last week’s number.
- This week’s WWE Superstars on WGN America drew a 0.5 cable rating.

- Wrestling legend Paul Orndorff is currently battling skin cancer. Because the cancer is around his carotid artery, it cannot be removed surgically, so he has accepted chemotherapy and radiation treatment.

-- Tonight's RAW taping at the Scottrade Center in St. Louis, Mo. is not sold out but all the floor and second row seats are gone as noted earlier.
