– The official Twitter feed of ESPN’s College Gameday announced Tuesday that John Cena, a Division III All-American center at Springfield College, will be the celebrity guest picker for this Saturday’s show at University of Houston.
– Speaking of John Cena, he is featured on the cover of the latest issue of The Wrestler.
– Maria Kanellis announced during last night’s AfterBuzzTV broadcast for Monday Night RAW that she will be returning to the squared circle on February 25, 2012 for New York City based promotion Family Wrestling Entertainment.
It will be her first match in two years and outside of WWE—she last competed at the February 23, 2010 WWE Superstars taping. She was released from her contract with WWE three days after the event and recently resurfaced on the wrestling scene to support her boyfriend, Ring of Honor talent Mike Bennett, at independent shows. She stated last Tuesday on Facebook that she had resumed wrestling training.

-Ricky sent word that marks the WWE RAW will return to Boston, Massachusetts on Monday, March 05, 2012.
-Debut Brodus Clay has been pushed back another week and this time it seems will premiere next week on RAW from Hershey, Pennsylvania. John Laurinaitis told Clay on the phone during RAW last night that he wanted that his debut is large and it will take place next week.

Kurt Angle on hamstring injury had to work through during his title defenses against Bobby Roode and James Storm: "I had to take care of the injury when I wrestled James Storm in the recordings of TV." I gave everything I could, which was only a minute of struggle. I've missed only nine days, but now I'm back to Olympic form. It was only a slight tear in my hamstring but there was much bleeding. The hemorrhage was down my hamstring, below my calf, down my shin, until my feet. It was black and blue, but the injury was not as bad as I thought it was. But I'm now back to training. I've done a lot of interviews and gotten much attention to the formation of a lap. My only obstacle is Jake Barter. He has almost guaranteed to win a medal, because he is so good. If win, United States wants to make sure wrestling I'm capable of winning a medal. So they want to go out and train in Colorado Springs, and I'm going to do it. "I think I have a great shot to make the team."
In getting MMA: "I've had many conversations with Dana White." While he has refused the offers, Dana and respect each other enough for us not to say exactly which offered. The thing was, he wanted to be ready in a short time and I could not do it. I wanted to months, wanted to weeks. We are good friends and I hope that he has great success. But you know what, he said some negative things about me in the press. I still love him to death. Move to his physique, which means that he was ready for competition, but he wanted to be ready in four to six weeks and I could not do it. It is impossible. It is also the fact that I'm signed with TNA and Dana didn't want nobody fights for him and at the same time of wrestling. Dana White, Dios bless. "Say to say, respect you because I know that I wanted to fight for you and wanted to be your guy."
On Kevin Nash: "I love him to death." I know why he went to the WWE. I wanted to be the carrot. Carrot that I wanted to spread in front of his face. Do but has WWE used it correctly that he returned? No. Kevin must return to TNA where can use you the form that it should be. WWE thinks that he is old and washed up but TNA does not think that. TNA wants to Kevin Nash. He is so talented, talented and popular. "I want him in the TNA because he is one of my best friends".
On work in the fight after retirement and potentially free join the WWE Hall of Fame: "If I finish in the Hall of Fame in the WWE, I don't know if I will accept it." I love Vince McMahon. Did me a lot of money and was like a father figure to me. But Dixie Carter is my boss and I love to death. So I don't know what I do. I would like to say that I will not return to the WWE. But Vince McMahon can offer me something when I remove and I finished with TNA. But I would also like to be part of the creative, or an agent for TNA. Out of everyone, am I best to arrive at the finish. I would like to remain with TNA and to do so. Many people ask if he would return if Vince wanted me to WrestleMania, and I do not know the answer to this question. "But I know that I'm happy in TNA and I would stay there."

Booker T’s In-Ring Return, JR Not On Raw Update, Storm’s Concussion, Raw Rating

- As previously noted WWE are looking to do a Cody Rhodes vs Booker T angle, marking Booker T’s return to the ring. WWE is now officially advertising Booker T as challenging Cody Rhodes for the Intercontinental Title at the December 29 live event in Buffalo.
It’s not clear if Booker’s return will be a permanence thing, but the feeling is that he’s just being used to put over Rhodes.
- The reason JR’s segment was cut from Monday’s Raw is that The Walt Disney Company were contractually guaranteed that no scheduled segment featuring The Muppets would be cut from the program, meaning WWE had to cut time from elsewhere. Jim Ross was not immediately aware of why he wouldn’t be featured.
- As noted yesterday TNA star James Storm suffered a concussion at last week’s Impact Wrestling tapings. It is now believed that he’ll need up to 2 months off.
“Had a ct head scan and a MRI yesterday,” Storm wrote on Twitter. “Hate when doctors just come in and give you a look. Just tell me the bad news. Cowboy up!!!”
“Confirmed…. TV tapings in Macon the cowboy sustaind(sic) a concussion. Doc says 6-8 weeks. But that’s for a normal man.”
Readers noted that Storm had appeared at house shows after the incident. This is because he did not see a doctor until the Monday.

- Rey Mysterio said he was shooting for a return by Wrestlemania 28 during a recent interview with The Miami Herald:
“Especially after the injury that I had, I want to make sure to work hard throughout this therapy so I can go ahead and be back by then.”
He also commented on Mil Mascaras being inducted in to the Hall of Fame:
“I think he definitely brought something that was very unique to pro wrestling. You had seen masked wrestlers before but nothing like Mil Mascaras. Not only did he revolutionize the sport in the United States but also in Japan and in Mexico. You would never see that man wear the same outfit twice. His style in the ring, his presence, the designs on his masks, everything was so different every time. I believe he did revolution, to a certain degree, the sport in all three countries.”
- The latest show idea for the upcoming WWE network is a countdown show. They again asked fans on Facebook to vote on possible show names:

During the recent 3rd Quarter Conference Call Vince McMahon said the network is set to launch in about 6 months. He noted that the company has about 100,000 hours of footage in their tape library – with 30,000 hours digitized. They are using those 30,000 hours as the first programming for the Network and will continue to digitize the rest of their content going forward.
- WWE will not be continuing NXT or Superstars in the new year, although they may show up again on the WWE Network. Since being moved to an online format in North America they have lost $9 million in TV revenue.
- Booby Roode won the TNA World Heavyweight title on last night’s Impact Wrestling, turning on his long time partner James Storm. Here are the highlights:

- Mick Foley made a surprise return to WWE yesterday during the Dublin, Ireland Raw house. He refereed a match between John Cena and R-Truth.
- Compared to last September, WWE business is down across the board. Live event attendance is down 9% and DVD sales are down 44%. WWE.com had only 10.4 million unique visitors in September, which is down 10% from the year before and the lowest month in several years. WWE Shop orders are down 13% from the year before, although there was a spike in August due to CM Punk’s popularity.

- As speculated the reason Tyson Tomko could not initially raise the money for bail following his drug arrest, was because he’s struggling financially. Like many Americans he and his wife Michelle lost their home due to foreclosure, and his savings from wrestling soon dried up.
Tomko is currently completing a WWE sponsored rehab program.
- WWE Divas Eve, Kelly Kelly and Alicia Fox will be interviewed in the middle of a WWE ring for a segment for gossip show The Insider. It will be in regard to rumors that former Diva Stacy Keibler is dating George Clooney.

Update on Jim Ross & Michael Cole, return WWE Mick Foley
-The Party of "Challenge of Michael Cole" scheduled for premiums between Michael Cole and Jim Ross was shocked from the show due to time constraints. Jim Ross was made in Atlanta and twitteo follows after RAW:
"4 the record, I am in Atlanta." He was informed by the Office of Raw GM, my services were not needed. Cole wants 2 mocking my 3 surgeries. "Class."
Ross and Cole will be fighting on show next week, with the stipulation that the winner is still a gross announcer and the loser is on television in the foreseeable future.
-In spite of Boston of the Web site of TD Garden pulling Mick Foley ad for November 14 Supershow premiums with The Rock, local ads that aired last night in Boston

– WWE recently filed for the “”Supercharge” trademark. This likely has to do with the upcoming WWE Network.
– It should be noted that reports of Mick Foley’s WWE return being “officially” announced are not confirmed by any means. Obviously this could change but WWE has not “officially” announced anything yet. This is simply the TD Garden’s website hyping the three-hour live RAW telecast. As we’ve been reporting though, Foley is expected to return to WWE in the near future so it’s possible the arena press release is legit.

- Following Darren Young’s lead, Heath Slater has now been suspended for his first Wellness Policy violation. He’ll be out for 30 days.
- As previously noted there are plans for Booker T to return to the ring for a feud with Cody Rhodes. Booker’s official return is set for November 1st Smackdown tapings.
- Bobby Roode was originally set to win the the TNA World heavyweight title from an injured Kurt Angle at Bound For Glory, but Hulk Hogan stepped in and decided against it. He feels Roode is not yet ready to run with the title, despite ratings being virtually the same for years.
- Last week’s episode of WWE Friday Night Smackdown drew a 2.26 cable rating on Syfy.

Gail Kim Says She Knew She'd Return To TNA, Has No Regrets About Quitting WWE

Diva Dirt caught up with the woman of the moment, Gail Kim, Monday for an exclusive interview about her return to TNA, quitting WWE and much more.
Gail made a "kimpact", if you will, when she returned to Impact Wrestling last Thursday on Spike TV -- and was even a worldwide trending topic on Twitter!
In this 50 minute interview, Gail discusses her return to the company she calls "home", reveals more details about her time in WWE, frustration at the way the Divas are used and more.
Gail, who is due to marry TV chef Robert Irvine (Food Network's Restaurant Impossible) next year, also reveals an upcoming TV project: an episode of TLC's "Say Yes to the Dress" which she filmed a month or so ago.
On her return to TNA: "During the time that Johnny [John Laurinaitis] said that he wanted to re-sign me, I already kinda knew that I didn't want to re-sign and it was just a matter of timing because I was under contract. That was pretty much my plan the whole entire time; to go back to TNA."
"Everybody was very positive and happy and said, 'We're so glad to have you back'. First off, I'm really happy that they were happy to see me back. The first thing I always said was, 'You know, I already knew I'd be back'. I even said it in my last interview on the [Knockouts] DVD - hopefully, I'll finish my career there. That's always what I pictured, anyway. [...] I always hoped for the best there [in WWE], obviously, and it didn't turn out the way I had pictured completely, but I'm back where I pictured I would be. I'm just happy with the way everything turned out."
"I'm a true believer in everything happens for a reason. I was meant to leave there [TNA] at that time. [...] I think it was a refresher in some ways, too, for me to leave and try something else and then come back to where my home was."
On the growth of the Knockouts division since her last run: "Well, there's a lot more girls, it seems like. We had a lot of girls back then, but we have a lot of girls now. [...] I love it because the girls there are all from pretty much an independent background. You get to the point where you're happy to be in a division where you know the girls can step it up, and that you can have a challenging match, and that you guys can rock the house, basically."
On whether she made the right decision to quit WWE: "I'm very confident in my decision making. Everything happens for a reason. I made this decision for a reason. It's supposed to happen."
"I don't regret anything. I always had to accept what they gave me. It wasn't even about how they used me because I knew going in, I had to accept whatever they gave me & how they used me. It was more about the disrespect behind the scenes, and that's what pushed me over the edge to say, 'I just don't wanna be here anymore. I'm miserable. I just have to leave for my own sanity'."
On quitting instead of waiting for her contract to run its course: "I was pretty much at my wit's end at that point. [...] For my own sanity, like I said, I had to leave. I knew seven weeks out from my contract end, 'Okay well, you know what? I know that I can survive financially, and take a little break, and be with my fiancé'. Him and I both discussed it because it's a decision for both of us as well, for our lives. I just couldn't take it anymore mentally or emotionally. Physically, no problem. But on the other end, you can't go to work and feel like you're just dreading it. I just didn't wanna go to work anymore. I'll miss my friends and the people there, but that's about it. You can't contribute to a company when you don't feel passion anymore. It's a waste of time."

John “Bradshaw” Layfield published a blog on his official website stating that he has no plans to appear for WWE or TNA Wrestling.
“The question is whether I will return to WWE television. NO. The answer is NO. I have no plans, I have no contact with WWE. No one has mentioned this, no one has brought it up,” he wrote.
“Will that NO change to a YES. I don’t know. I love performing. I am actually healthy right now, I have lost a ton of weight getting ready for NYC marathon and am in the best shape of my life. But would I risk that to return, no I would not. However, is there a hybrid that I would be interested in-I never rule out anything.”
Regarding TNA, he wrote, “My best friend Bruce Prichard is head of talent relations for TNA-I love him, I love many of the folks there and the talent. I have no plans of going there.”

10/10 RAW Breakdown: Vince's Return, Punk & Del Rio Lose Viewers Again, More

- As noted before, this Monday's RAW Supershow did a 3.24 cable rating with 5 million viewers against Monday Night Football, the Major League Baseball playoffs and other competition. The rating was higher because the first 30 minutes this week did a 3.62 rating but from that point it declined. The final hour of RAW this week was well below normal levels.
In the segment-by-segment breakdown, the opening segment with Triple H being removed from his RAW duties and Vince McMahon returning, and the Christian vs. John Morrison match lost 224,000 viewers. Triple H and Laurinaitis' backstage segment and the Big Show vs. Mark Henry video lost 361,000 more viewers.
In the 10pm timeslot, Henry vs. Randy Orton and Eve Torres & Kelly vs. Tamina & Rosa Mendes, plus the Jim Ross firing segment gained just 132,000 viewers, which is below normal for 10pm. Kofi Kingston, Evan Bourne and Mason Ryan vs. Dolph Ziggler, David Otunga and Jack Swagger lost 658,000 more viewers.
The decline continued as Alberto Del Rio vs. CM Punk lost 213,000 viewers and did a 2.77 quarter-hour rating. The overrun this week with Punk and Del rio vs. The Miz and R-Truth with Triple H's run-in gained 667,000 viewers, doing a 3.20 rating for the overrun.
