Jim Ross Blog: WWE Unifying Titles, Batista-Jericho Returns, Lesnar
AppId is over the quota
WWE Hall of Famer Jim Ross has updated his blog, which you can read in its entirety over at JRsBarBQ.com. JR previews Night of Champions and had this to say about the following topics:
Whether The WWE Title & The World Heavyweight Title Will Ever Be Unified:
"No , I never see one, major champion in WWE meaning that I don't think that the WWE/World Heavyweight titles will ever be united which essentially means that I don't see the brand split going away any time soon."
"Will the WWE title belts ever be redesigned? Beats me. No idea and I'm really not a 'belt guy' as it relates to what they look like. We get this question all the time."
What he thinks of Brock Lesnar returning to the Octagon in December?
"My instinct says it may be too early. I'm surprised that Brock is returning to headline a UFC PPV so soon after surgery and especially against an opponent like Overeem who is a world class striker. I'm a Lesnar fan without question and hope that he can take Overeem down and avoid a knockout."
Will Batista and/or Chris Jericho ever return to WWE?
"Again, I have no info on such but my guess is that yes they will at some point in the future and likely for a limited time engagement. Perhaps that's just my wishful thinking and I could be dead wrong. Both would help score a bigger Wrestlemania 28 number of PPV buys, IMO."

Kong Almost Not Named Kharma, Multiple WWE DVD Titles Pulled From Europe
By Daniel Pena
May 5, 2011 - 5:03:48 PM -- WWE asked their European video distributor SilverVision to pull a number of DVD titles from their website including Hart and Soul: The Hart Family Anthology, The True Story of WrestleMania, Greatest Stars of the '90s, The Best of RAW 15th Anniversary and Raw The Beginning: The Best of Seasons 1 & 2.
Regarding this, Silvervision stated on their Facebook account, "It has been removed at the request of WWE - we'll have more news on this next week."
-- The theme for the month of June on WWE Classics On Demand is "Bad to the Bell." The synopsis reads: "Relive classics matches and moments with the Superstars that you hate to love, but love to hate."
-- The Heyman Hustle website reports that Kia Stevens (a/k/a Awesome Kong) was almost not named Kharma because it was registered by Jennifer Thomas, a fitness model who was using the name at California based independent wrestling shows. WWE purchased the name from Thomas.
Thomas was under a developmental contract to WWE from 2005 to 2007. She is scheduled for a tryout soon.

Sid Vicious Says Titles Don't Matter To Him, Discusses WrestleMania 8, Warrior
Right After Wrestling with Sid Vicious (a/k/a Sid Eudy)
Hosts: Arda Ocal and Jimmy Korderas
Available at TheScore.com and TheScore.com.
His feelings on being at WrestleMania 8, how he told Vince McMahon he didn't want to work for the company afterward, and what the original plan was for him leading up to Mania: "My original plan was to only do TV's and pay-per-views until WrestleMania and then I would become the champion at WrestleMania, and than I was gonna do house-shows after WrestleMania. But the situation with (Ultimate) Warrior being fired at SummerSlam changed the whole thing. I don't remember Papa Shango missing his cue - I just remember things not being laid out very well."
What the atmosphere felt like behind the curtain at SummerSlam '91 concerning the Ultimate Warrior: "I think everybody was aware of it but I don't think anybody cared. Things like that happened so often that nobody ever cared. People might have cared about it - but it's not anyone's business, so nobody cared."
Being a champion and carrying a championship title: "When I first started the business, I was told I would never be champion. The belt was always put on people who could draw. So I never expected to become a 15-time champion or anything...(the championship) just became an extra thing in your bag to carry around...you're never in the business to become champion, you're in the business to do your part - whatever the promoter tells you your part is."
The infamous ankle injury he suffered in WCW: "It was a PPV. What they did was put that (move) in there as a cue for the camera to go back and show the 'mystery partner.' I wasn't comfortable doing that move (from the second ropes) but I tried and sometimes we make mistakes."
Sid also discusses whether he's still available to wrestle and whether WWE ever offered him a chance to return, where he was happiest wrestling, working with Shawn Michaels, and suffering a punctured lung and broken ribs during a match with the Steiner Bros & Doom.
