We kick off Impact with a recap of mega mouth’s last couple of months. Mr Anderson hits the ring with a special guest. There is a whiteboard in the middle of the ring with some maths formulas on it. He introduces the man as a former professor at the university he attended. He goes on to say Bischoff and Hogan could use a brush up on there maths skills. Anderson said he had a match with one Reefer Van Dam. Both of them pinned each other at the same time. Equals a tie. But he never received a rematch. It equals he wants his freaking rematch!! The professor agrees and Anderson says he is free to go before calling him back. Anderson wants to reminisce with the professor about a young lady he sat next too. The both agree she had a big ass but more cushion for the pushin. Anderson said the professor didn’t like it when he flirted with her because he had a crush on her. Anderson he knew cause Mary Beth told him. She also told him, that he told her he was gay, so he could get some action. Professor denies it then agrees. Anderson says he would like to live out a childhood fantasy and do something to one of his teaches, he asks if he knows why he wants to do this. The Professor says, cause you are an assehole? Anderson says BINGO! Then hits the Mic Check. Bischoff and Hogan hit the ring. Bischoff says he doesn’t know what Hogan sees in this bad comedian. How’s the network going to like what he does to former professors. Hogan says he disagrees and he likes his shenanigans. But he is running around doing what he wants and breaking HIS rules. Hogan said he had to think about his offer to do it the easy way, so now he won’t be getting a rematch at all, cause he is running the show. Hogan says if he beats RVD tonight he will get his title shot, Anderson says he isn’t even in my league. RVD says you talk smack you got to man up. RVD asks what you got to say. Mr Anderson says he will do the talking in the ring tonight. Hogan says if Anderson doesn’t win tonight he will be playing in the sandbox with the professor. RVD tells Hogan to stop holding him back and Hogan says he has his shot. Sting comes to the ring entrance and says the network rang him and they want him to be the special enforcer, so he will be in total control, ITS SHOWTIME! Guess Hogan and Co aren’t in charge. Recap of the devastating end to last weeks Impact and A.J has a bruised spinal chord.

1: Mickie James vs Tara. Madison says to Tara she better win, or else. Mickie pulls Tara in by her hair and a flying crossbody. Lou Thesz press and flapjack to boot. Tara with some lethal strikes and then walks over Mickie and a standing moonsault for a near fall. Tara runs into an elbow before reversing a frankensteiner into a powerbomb. Tara climbs the turnbuckle but Mickie hits the rope and stops the attack. Mickie with a frankensteiner attempt again but Tara stops the attack again and has Mickie’s legs and drops straight down from the corner and holds the boston crab move. Somehow Mickie makes it to the rope to break the hold. Tara is reversed and Mickie hits the Mickie DDT. 1,2,3, winner, Mickie James! Madison stands at the entrance displeased.

Mr Anderson backstage says he doesn’t like Sting. He rode in on his horse and stole his title shot. Sting says he didn’t steal anything the network awarded him the title shot. Anderson asks who the hell is the network.. Sting says there is no name behind the network its simply, the network. Samoa Joe talks with his sidekick about tonight’s match.

2: Okato vs The Pope. Okato with a dropkick reversal, then a big boot. Turnbuckle now for Okato misses the dropkick. Pope with some physical strikes and from outside the ring. Boot to the head from Pope. Kick to the head from Pope and then he takes his boot off and nails Okato in the head. Pope takes his glove off showing his rings on his fingers and nails Okato before being disqualified. Pope continues to beat on him and then nails the ref before going back to Okato until Joe comes out to clear the ring.

Sting tells his tale in brief about wrestling. Kurt gives his thoughts on Jeff, Karen and the upcoming cage match at Lockdown. Hogan talks with RVD and says he has been through a lot and he wants RVD to be his guy. Hogan says he doesn’t know what Bischoff sees in Anderson. RVD can’t believe Hogan is in his corner but Hogan asks him to think about it, then calls him an idiot when he is out of the room.

Immortal in the ring now (what’s left of them) and Flair has the mic. Ric says normally he likes to steal the show but he would like to give the mic to two of the greatest tag team wrestlers in the world. Hardy says twelve years ago they made history. They thought they were going to make lots of money but it was never to be. Now they are going to be the guys in power and make sure Fortune don’t achieve there goals. Bully Ray asks if A.J is here. Of course not cause he powerbombed him onto the concrete. Bully says for twenty years no one has knocked the chip off of his shoulder. Bully says the three of them versus the four of Immortal if they have the balls. Fortune enter the ring and attack the three Immortal members. Roode beats on Flair in the ring with a number of knife edge chops. Beer Money look for the DWI but the lights go red and Abyss enters the ring and chokeslams both members and then Blackhole slams Kaz, Abyss looks to be the fourth member. Chokeslam on Kaz by Abyss and the rest of Immortal beat down Fortune. Abyss backstage says, what doesn’t kill this monster, makes it stronger. Monsters aren’t under your bed, or in your dreams, they are in your face and coming to get you.

3: Hernadez comes out with Tag Champs Rosita and Sarita along with the newest member, um, guess we will find out. Hernandez says you know these two fine ladies so I will introduce you to Anarchia, ( I think). Hernadez says they are taking over. Taking your jobs, your woman and your money. Ladies speak mexican. Hernadez says you will stop worshipping this (USA flag drops) and start worshipping this (Big Mexican flag drops). Hernandez says they challenged Morgan to a street fight, Devon comes out with Morgan and they accept. Morgan and Devon charge the ring. Devon with side slam on Arnachia and near fall. Morgan inside now with a fallaway slam on Hernadez. Machine gun elbows by Morgan and clothesline out of the ring. Girls try to stop Devon and Morgan but Velvet comes out and attacks the girls. Tag champs beat on Velvet and Angelina walks down the ramp but looks spaced out. Winter screams Angelina and calls her back, Love obliges. Back in the ring, flying tackle by Devon on Anarchia. Anarchia hit him from behind with knucks and gets a cheap pinfall. Winners, Mexican America.

4: Ink Inc vs Scott Steiner and Crimson. Steiner will square off with Jesse. Scott beats on him with some strikes. Overhead Belly to belly by Steiner. Stiff clothesline before droppinf the elbow and doing push ups. Tag to Crimson and double team shoulder block. Suplex slam by Crimson and two count. Big boot by Crimson and Jesse tags out Shannon now gets shoulder blocked and running elbows. Shannon gets caught and front slammed onto the mat. Moore with a moonsault off the top but can’t tag Jesse so continues to jump at Crimson but is caught, hits The Red Alert and gets the Pinfall. Shannon is not happy with Jesse and wipes his ass with Scotty’s mail and throws it at him.

5: RVD vs Mr Anderson with special enforcer Sting, for a shot at Stingers title. They lock up, Anderson with the upper hand but RVD hits a couple of nice kicks and stranding moonsault for a two count. Nice counter from Anderson to stop rolling thunder and a monkey flip. Swinging neckbreaker and two count by Anderson. Choke and neckbreaker dropped onto the knee for near fall. RVD thrown to the corner and two count again. Anderson grounds RVD. Anderson accidentally clotheslines the ref and RVD kicks Anderson and pins him. Sting checks the ref and counts two. Sting is now the ref. Green Bay Plunge by Anderson and two count. Kick to the head by RVD and clotheline followed by another kick. Split legged moonsault but only two. Anderson rolls outside but is caught with a cross body to the outside by RVD. Anderson grabs a chair and slides it into the ring. Mic Check into the ring post on RVD. Anderson pulls Stingers hands up to count him out but Sting doesn’t oblige and they square off. Anderson is DQd it would seem but Sting and Anderson have to be seperated by security. It would seem RVD is the number one contender because Anderson lost his cool. They interview RVD backstage and he thinks he is fighting tonight, seems The Mic Shot rocked his boat and he doesn’t know whats going on. Anderson is upset and says Sting doesn’t want to face him, asking why he is afraid of him. Sting says he never rang the bell. Anderson interupts and says he rang the damn bell, Sting said he didn’t ring it and it breaks down again before they are split up. Mr Anderson says who rang the bell? The wizard of OZ? The End.

Summary:

Was a muched improved Impact from last week but that was no mean feat. However, Bischoff not stealing the mic for twenty to thirty minutes was a big plus IMO. Mr Anderson seemed to have the most air time which made for a much more entertaining show. RVD was pretty good after the match also with his reaction. The Pope seems to be coming along as a hateable heel, but god damn it was hard work getting there given the storyline he and Joe have been working. It also marked the return of The Monster Abyss who cut a good piece after single handedly dismantling Fortune. Tara and Mickie as always it seems were the highlight of the show. Although their match was brief we got to see how good these girls are when put in the ring together, that boston crab was mean girls! Kudos.
