WWE Goes After Site For Calling Them Wrestling, Superstars Update, Waltman Praises Legends Son
- WWE’s PR department actually went after TVWeek.com for using the term wrestling when covering Drew Carey’s induction in to the WWE Hall of Fame.
WWE publicist Kellie Baldyga emailed the writer and said:
“We are no longer a wrestling company but rather a global entertainment company with a movie studio, international licensing deals, publisher of three magazines, consumer good distributor and more.”
During a subsequent phone conversation, the publicist stated, “No, we don’t do wrestling events. They’re entertainments. And we don’t call them wrestlers. They’re superstars and divas.”
- Although WWE Superstars will end its run on WGN America on April 7th, it will continue to air in international markets and on the WWE website.
- Sean ‘X-Pac’ Waltman was backstage at last week’s FCW tapings and said “…Bo Rotundo is going to be money in the near future. He’s 20 yrs old.”
He also noted:
“It was great to see William Regal and Fit Finlay last night.”
