JR Injured, Smackdown Rating, Batista MMA Update, Star On No Wrestling Rule
- Jim Ross was injured during his match on Raw with Michael Cole. According Joey Styles Ross has broken his hand.
JR Noted on Twitter:
“Cole’s tooth went to the bone on my fist. Not an artistic masterpiece. Dropping bombs. Leather straps sun. Ugh.”
- Last week’s episode of WWE Friday Night Smackdown on Syfy drew a low 1.87 rating.
- TMZ are reporting that Batista‘s MMA deal is dead:
“Ex-WWE superstar Batista WON’T be crushing anyone’s face in an MMA ring anytime soon — because the human freak show says his deal with Strikeforce is officially kaput.”
- Former ROH star Tyler Black (now Seth Rollins in WWE developmental) pated the following on Twitter about WWE’s no wrestling rule:
“I think you have to understand the idea of it. I was skeptical at first too, but it’s all a marketing scheme. When push comes to shove WWE will always be professional wrestling, but they are branching out and doing so much more nowadays that the word ‘wrestling’ really pigeonholes the brand…so eliminating the word expands the brand and creates many new avenues to go down.”
