My apologies but this will be just a quick recap, work calls this weekend. Anyway, Impact starts with Immortal coming to the ring calling out Anderson. Mr Anderson basically says he sees an assehole in the mirror, but all his lemmings are up Hogan’s ass. Mr Anderson gets beat down and spits in Bully Ray’s face, only to get hit again. Anderson will run The Gauntlet, here tonight. Velvet asks what Winter has done with Angelina backstage. The Network announces that Fortune will face Immortal in a best of three series. Winning team gets a one man advantage going into Lockdown.

1: Crimson vs Jesse Neal vs Douglas Williams vs Orlando Jordan, all with there respective partners at ringside. Match started well before totally breaking down. Scotty and Shannon went at it outside the ring taking Jesse out of the match. Crimson looks on outside and gets hit with Abyss from behind before getting chokeslammed onto the steel barrier. After some EY confusion he takes out Magnus who was trying to take advantage of the situation allowing Orlando Jordan to hit the Gender Bender and get the victory.

Backstage Bully Ray tries to get RVD on side. RVD was playing video games and Bully says the grass is greener on the other side and there are less seeds. (Marijuana joke).

2: Kazarian vs Matt Hardy. Was a fast paced match, Hardy hit a pair of Side Effects for a near fall, but missed a moonsault that nearly turned the tables. He managed to push the ref into the ropes effectively knocking Kaz off the top rope and put on his Ice Pick submission move to get the victory.

In the ring Madison accompanied by Tara says she can’t think of anything but what happened last week. Madison then says she would have reversed over Mickie and slapped Tara’s wretched face. Madison reminds Tara she is her bitch. Tara looks a little pissed by all this. Madison says she handed her job back. Crowd pops big time for Tara. Mickie comes out before Tara can say anything and says she should have ran over her again because she is going to beat her within a inch of her life and show her how hardcore country she can be. Mickie’s arm was strapped btw.

3: Matt Morgan, Kurt Angle and Samoa Joe vs Hernandez, Jeff Jarrett and The Pope. Kurt with a overhead suplex on Hernandez from the top. Kurt chases Double J out of the arena. Hernandez looks for the Border Toss but Joe looks to choke him out before Pope elbow drops him to stop the count. Pope gets some knucks from Mexican America ringside and knocks out Joe to get the victory. Morgan gets knocked out and along with the Pope Mexican America stand victorious.

Meanwhile backstage Kurt is chasing Jeff around and jumps in his car and peels away leaving Karen chasing behind. Kurt mocks them. Immortal in the ring introduce RVD. RVD hits the ring and Hogan pleads with him not to make the same mistake that Anderson did. He goes on to say people have always taken advantage of his laid back character but he is turning it up and Hogan likes what he sees. Stingers music hits now. Sting says Rob never seen Anderson lay Sting out. Sting says if he is the better man he will beat him unless he jumps in the sack with those two Jabroni’s over there. RVD doesn’t say anything and backs up to backstage. Eric Bischoff says given all Sting’s accomplishments he is not quite the chess player that Hogan is. Bischoff threatens Sting, Sting Scorpion Death Drops him and looks to Hogan. Sting says another time.

4: Abyss vs Storm. Double knee backbreaker and cross body from the top seen Storm with some momentum. Abyss with a chokeslam sees a near fall, but eventually ends it with a Black Hole Slam. Immortal come out to celebrate.

Backstage Bischoff is on the phone trying to find out who the Network are associated with, ll in good time he is told. In the ring Velvet Sky calls out Winter but Angelina in a trance enters instead. Angelina hit a reverse DDT onto her knees and then a DDT onto a chair much to Winter’s pleasure looking on.

5: Mr Anderson vs Immortal. Anderson got a huge pop and squares off with Murphy first. A minute into the match Anderson hits the Mic Check and Rob Terry is second to enter. Rob lasts a little longer before receiving the same fate. T.V champ Gunner in now. Gunner has been carrying around the belt in his mouth. Gunner didn’t last any longer than Terry and goes down to the Mic Check. Bully Ray gets a “You can’t wrestle” chant. Bully is well in control for the first few minutes until Anderson hit The Plunge on Bully. Doesn’t take long and Bully is in control again and throws Anderson out of the ring and takes out the ref. Bully drags Anderson up the ramp and looks to do the same thing he did to A.J. Hogan comes out and takes off his back brace and looks to powerbomb Anderson before Sting comes out to end it. Abyss looks to get Sting but Sting hits him and Bully with his bat effectively saving his opponent this Sunday, Mr Anderson. Impact ended with some Reactions from the wrestlers we seen tonight, the end.

Summary

Orlando Jordan pinned Douglas William C+
Matt Hardy submits Kazarian C
Hernadez, Jarrett, Pope defeated Angle, Morgan, Joe C-
Abyss pinned Storm C
Mr Anderson vs Immortal N/C C-

Was good Impact leading into Lockdown, in fact the best in a month. I have no idea why we had to wait until just before Lockdown to actually see some wrestling, go figure. The first match was extremely entertaining and there was a lot going on all the time. Abyss hitting the chokeslam was cool and Crimson looked good in the ring too. The end of the match was perfect with good old Eric Young up to his usual antics and eventually helping his partner for a change. Orlando’s finisher looked good too. Was disappointed with how Kaz lost, if Hardy was to lose it shouldn’t have been that clean IMO, especially as Kaz was starting to look like a real contender. Anyhow the card on Lockdown looks good, I will be tuning in, Laterz.
