"Nobody knew anything until the night of March 26, when reserved we went to fight in Panama City, Florida."
Johnny Ace, who was an agent with WCW at the time, called and told us that there be prior to a meeting pre-show. As el Chavo and I walked through the area behind the scenes, we realized that some of the doors had signs WWF and WWF names in them. Not put it past WCW do to work with us, so not sure of any meaning, but what started a buzz. The boys who usually spoke and discussed things might have known something, but nobody said much of anything. Everyone was simply direct the restoration and waiting for the "meeting" begin. The entire crew was there: workers, referees and players.
The funny thing about setup of all was that most of the boys entered the room with its typical "who cares" attitude... to Johnny Ace and Bruce Prichard, Jerry Brisco, Pat Patterson, Shane McMahon came to the room. Suddenly, they were straight care and pay. You could have heard a pin drop. Most of the kids sat down with a look of "what the fu:?" on their faces, and there was a person in the room that does not pay strict attention when the brass WWF began to talk and explain how things were going to work.
Everyone knew that there was a possibility that could lose their jobs. Who sweated you over were the guys who had burned a bridge with Vince McMahon (especially when WCW was at the top and tried to shove it up the ass of Vince). "The guys with talent knew that they would be probably be hired by the WWF because they could be useful for the company, but for the most part, the guys who were"on top"were the most uncomfortable because they knew that it would be almost impossible to shoot down people like Steve Austin, the Rock, Undertaker, Triple H and Kurt Angle of their spots."
