In the latest edition of Monday Night RAW 3 new matches for Capitol Punishment PPV were announced, so here are my WWE Capitol Punishment 2011 Predictions. The PPV takes place on 19.06.2011 from Washington, DC,Verizon Center.

WWE Championship Match
WWE Capitol Punishment 2011 Predictions
John Cena (c) Vs. R-Truth

I’m picking John Cena to win this one because Rtruth is too fresh in the main event scene to become the WWE Champion. Sure Rtruth has excel as a heel in recent weeks, but I don’t think WWE management feel that now is the time for Rtruth to win the WWE title. Also there is a potential feud with the returning John Morrison already for Rtruth.

The rumors of Alberto Del Rio vs John Cena WWE Summerslam 2011 also seem likely to be true, so I can see John Cena retaining the title after Rtruth get DQ for losing his cool and using a chair or something. That way, Rtruth retains credbility and John Cena keeps the title.

WWE World Heavyweight Championship Match
Randy Orton (c) Vs. Christian
WWE Capitol Punishment 2011 Predictions

I’m picking Christian, this is one predictions that I’m most confident about for the entire WWE Capitol Punishment 2011 Card. Christian has already lost twice to Randy Orton, so it does not make sense for him to lose again. I enjoy the new heel character of Christian, it brings cocky and opportunist elements.

For me, Randy Orton does not have the star power to carry the Smackdown brand as World Champion, so maybe WWE will let Christian have a serious run as World champion. therefore I’m expecting Christian to win via cheating, something like a low blow or grabbing the tights.

WWE Intercontinental Championship Match
Wade Barrett (c) Vs. Ezekiel Jackson
WWE Capitol Punishment 2011 Predictions

This should be Ezekiel Jackson night of glory by winning the prestigious Intercontinental Championship. If you can’t tell, I’m being sarcastic. I think the current value of the IC Title is akin to the WWE European Title during the Attitude Era. It just doesn’t feel important anymore and Wade Barrett has had a very poor run as the IC Champion.

I’m not sure why Wade Barrett stock in WWE has fallen so quickly, remember when he main event the WWE Title match at WWE Survivor Series 2010? That was like 6 months ago and now Wade Barrett is a midcarder who’s going to job to Ezekiel Jackson.

WWE United States Championship Match
Kofi Kingston vs. Dolph Ziggler
WWE Capitol Punishment 2011 Predictions

The US Title is actually more prestigious than the IC title at this point, that is strange when you consider that the US Title was inherited from WCW (a company that Vince Mcmahon buries at every opportunity).

Well, this is a good paring, as Kingston and Ziggler styles of wrestling mash well with each other. I’m hoping that this match get enough time, maybe around 15 minutes to showcase these two future stars.

Picking a winner here is difficult, I guess I’m going with Dolph Ziggler to become the new US Champion, since WWE management seem to be high on pushing him right now. Maybe some sort of distraction by Vickie Guerrero at ringside to help Dolph Ziggler get the W here.

Rey Mysterio Vs. CM Punk
WWE Capitol Punishment 2011 Predictions

I’m surprised that this match is not a gimmick match, I was expecting a steel cage, strap match or something. It just seem like WWE Creative is being lazy with booking this feud, I’m not even sure why both guys are feuding with each other. They already wrestle each other twice recently on Monday Night Raw, with the series tied at 1-1.

Both can have great matches, so again 15 minutes or more would be nice. I’m picking CM Punk to win here, but it’s a tight call as Rey Mysterio already did the job to Rtruth at WWE Over The Limit. But I’m thinking that WWE will put over CM Punk to persuade him to sign that WWE contract extension.

The Miz vs. Alex Riley
WWE Capitol Punishment 2011 Predictions

Alex Riley face turn has been a pleasant surprise and is a prime example one of WWE biggest strength, they know how to spot and develop somebody into a superstar. Hopefully Alex Riley will be a serious main event contender by this time next year as the crowd reactions has been very positive. Alex Riley has shown the charisma and mic skill of a top babyface, plus he’s feuding with the Miz.

Frankly, credit must be given to the Miz for putting over Alex Riley, making his former lackey look like a badass whenever they have brawl in recent weeks. I’m guessing the Miz is now in the stage where he will put over new stars as the Miz is now a “made man”.  However I feel it is too soon for Riley to defeat the Miz. Therefore I’m picking The Miz to get the win over the Alex Riley first, then we’ll see something else in the rematch.

Alberto Del Rio vs. The Big Show
WWE Capitol Punishment 2011 Predictions

I enjoy the Big Show return on Raw to confront Alberto Del Rio and Ricardo Rodriguez. He look like such a badass with his taped fist and angry expressions. I always thought that WWE could have a more valueable superstar in Big Show if they pushed him as the Angry Giant instead of the Comical Giant, but I digress.

Since Alberto Del Rio is likely to main event Summerslam 2011, he’s the clear favorite to get the W here and build up some much needed momentum after losses to Edge and Christian in World title matches on PPV. A clean submission win for Alberto Del Rio to put over the man of destiny.

Well, that’s the end of the card as far as I know, WWE may announce another match or two for the WWE Capitol Punishment PPV at the Smackdown tapings. Otherwise they may run some silly WWE Capitol Punishment Videos again involving Obama and political parodies during the PPV.
