On the final stop to Sunday’s WWE Money In The Bank 2011 PPV, here’s the WWE Smackdown Results 15/07/11 (July 15 2011). Right away, 2 matches are announced.

The show starts off reminding us that the main event will be Randy Orton vs Kane

Also Ezekiel Jackson will defend his Intercontinental Championship against Ted Dibiase tonight.

Randy Orton vs Christian Promo

We start off with a good promo here. Josh Matthews introduces Randy Orton and asks him that,knowing his anger issues, is he afraid of getting disqualified against Christian at Money in the Bank and losing the World Heavyweight Championship?

Orton says that he will not get disqualified.He says it’s a cheap attempt from Christian because Christian knows he can’t beat Orton fairly.

Christian appears on the screen and says there’s a present he wants to give Orton,and it turns out to be a picture of the night when Christian smashed the title into Orton’s face.

Christian says that that’s what it’s going to look like on Sunday,with Christian standing over Orton with the title. Orton says that he sees what Christian’s trying to do, that’s going to set him off. Orton says even he expects more from him and that’s pathetic.

Christian and Orton now have a brief argument,with Christian saying that Orton’s father Cowboy Bob Orton was pathetic.He said the only reason he’s in the Hall of Fame is to keep Randy happy and if he thinks that that’s not the case then he’s even more pathetic.

Orton wants Christian to come out and say that to his face.

Christian says that after he beats Orton on Sunday,then he’s going to tell Orton what a pathetic world champion he was. Orton says that Christian’s a pathetic excuse for a man.

Orton says that Christian only claim to fame was his best friend helping win the World title… for five days…now that is pathetic.

Now we go into our first match of tonight’s Smackdown.

Ezekiel Jackson(c) vs Ted Dibiase for the Intercontinental championship

This was a pretty decent match actually.Some of the moves impressed me quite a bit.It is mentioned during this match that Cody Rhodes will face Daniel Bryan AGAIN tonight. When are these two going to stop facing each other? Anyway,back to the match, the ending saw Ezekiel gets Ted into the Torture Rack for the win.

We now go backstage to Cody Rhodes and Ted Dibiase in the locker room. Cody hands Ted a paper bag and tells him to put it on because the bags are for losers.

Cody then has second thoughts but he says if Ted loses one more match then Cody’s going to walk down the ramp and personally put a bag over Ted’s head. Someone walks past them and Cody stops him and puts a bag over the stranger’s head. We now go to Cody’s match.

Cody Rhodes vs Daniel Bryan

So,despite my dislike for the idea of the numerous repeat of this match, it was to me a very impressive match by these two. They both have a bright future in the WWE.

In the end Bryan is sitting with the top rope between his two legs (OUCH) and Cody doing the thing where he springboards off the ropes and kicks Bryan in the jaw to win the match.  I was expecting either the LeBell Lock, Cross Rhodes or Cody getting disqualified to end this match.

We now go to a Christian promo. He is out sarcastically praising Orton’s tour bus,and goes round to the side to see something written on the side: “Orton sucks.Teddy Long is a moron. Christian uncrowned champion.”.

Christian shows sarcasm in saying whoever did it will pay for it. It won’t go unnoticed. Another good promo from Christian.  We now go to our next match:

Sheamus vs Sin Cara with Wade Barrett as guest commentator.

This match didn’t go on as long as I think it should have. Sheamus and Sin Cara are two very good wrestlers,and they aren’t being given more than five minutes in the spotlight. I mean,Sin Cara deserves to be World champion,but instead he’s stuck down in the midcard. That’s like Rey Mysterio being stuck down in midcard,having crappy feuds/matches with crappy wrestlers.

Sheamus and Christian have both been opponents for Sin Cara now,and they’re both very good,but they haven’t let them shine. Why won’t they let Sin Cara up in the main event? Because he can’t speak english? Great excuse!

Anyway,back to the short,five minute match. Despite Cara’s very short time in control of Sheamus,this isn’t actually a bad match.Just a short match. In the end I got a very pleasant surprise with the finish.

So I guess you’re wondering why Wade Barrett was commentating for this match. Barrett said during this match he’s out to scout two of his Money in the Bank opponents,but he also mentions last week,when Sheamus came running into the ring with a steel chair.

Barrett got retribution for that after the match,using the Brogue Kick and Wasteland against him. Finally,a WWE version of England vs Ireland!

Now we have another promo.Teddy Long’s in the ring and says that he’s gonna have Big Show and Mark Henry come out and have a “face-off”.It’s some sort of thing were both men can say whatever they want. However,if there is any physicality between them,he’ll cancel their bout on the WWE Money in the Bank 2011 Match Card.

Big show comes into the ring, but whenever Henry comes out he reaches the ramp and says it’s as far as he’s going,because you know what happens when his temper rises.Show says that him holding his temper’s the only thing that’s gonna stop him from choke-slamming him to hell. Henry says on Sunday he’s going to be in hell.

We see a replay of Show beating Henry down a month ago. They also have an argument about who’s better. Show asks Henry to get his ass (yes,he said ass) down to the ring right now. Long reminds them of what he’s gonna do if there’s any physicality.Then Teddy Long’s music hits, ending the promo.

Now we go to the main event.

Randy Orton vs Kane

For a main event,this wasn’t at all impressive. It ends with Christian coming down, Orton exiting the ring chasing after Christian who runs into the crowd. Eventually Orton hears the ref calling 9 on the countout but gets water poured down his back from Christian.

Kane def. Randy Orton via countout.6/10

After the match Orton chases Christian,who runs into the ring and baits Orton into an attack from Kane and Christian. Kane turns on Christian after a while, but when Christian gets out of the ring Kane receives an RKO.

Christian gets a chair and try to hit Orton with it, but Orton kicks him in the gut,takes the chair and chases Christian out of the ring.He then batters Kane around for a bit with the steel chair to close the show.
