Based on the latest match card, here’s the WWE Summerslam 2011 Predictions for the August 14th PPV event from LA Staples Center, the biggest PPV event of the summer!

The WWE Summerslam 2011 Matches will be headline by the rematch of John Cena and CM Punk, in a champion vs champion match.

Just like at Money in the Bank, there are multiple scenarios for this match.

1) John Cena Turn heel at Summerslam 2011

Now that’s a bold prediction, a year ago, there were strong rumors about WWE turning John Cena heel by having him join the Nexus. That didn’t happen, because of one simple reason, Vince Mcmahon didn’t know who could replace John Cena as the top babyface to sell merchandise to the masses.

Now the answer is here….CM Punk! For weeks, the crowd has been chanting for CM Punk, even in a feud against the suppose top babyface in John Cena. It’s true that more and more fans are growing weary of John Cena gimmick which has been stale and corny for a long time.

WWE could pull a page from the Bret Hart Stone Cold double turn at Wrestlemania 13 and officially turn both guys in this match. Have CM Punk defeat John Cena CLEAN to become the undisputed WWE Champion, then have John Cena attack the hell out of CM Punk with chairshots.

To make it even more realistic, have CM Punk bleed during the beatdown (a no-no in WWE PG era) and you’ll establish the new persona for John Cena. I said new, but actually it’s a rehash of his original gangster rapper gimmick from years ago.

Next night, have John Cena turned up on Raw in normal street clothes and insult all the fans for not appreciating him carrying the company. Cena is sickened that the fans cheer for CM Punk, somebody who willing leave the company with the WWE title.

2) CM Punk Turn Face

The second scenario is to keep John Cena face but turn CM Punk face too. Currently it’s unclear whether CM Punk is face or heel, but the fans sure are cheering for him.

I’m sure WWE management are giving serious thoughts about a CM Punk face turn, and they probably didn’t expect the crowd to be so pro CM Punk during this summer! I just hope CM Punk face persona does not involve cheesy lines and awful looking tshirts for kids.

Have CM Punk defeat John Cena clean, and the two guys shake hands after the match. Then CM Punk could feud with The Miz, Alberto Del Rio over the next few months.

3) John Cena wins

Now that’s the most boring ending, have John Cena defeat CM Punk clean and everything goes back to what it was. I’m seriously hoping WWE management realize this will DESTROY everything that they have got with CM Punk. So yes, this is the scenario I hope does not happen.

World Heavyweight Championship – No Holds Barred Match
Christian (c) vs. Randy Orton

The Viper is 3-1 on PPV against Captain Charisma this year, so I’m expecting Christian to defeat Randy Orton after a hard fought battle, I have high hopes for this match, it should be their best match yet. WWE need to quickly build up top stars on Smackdown, because they are seriously lacking in main event players.

I can Sheamus being the next challenger for Christian, although i’m not sure how good that feud will be. It’s time like this when you realize how badly WWE miss the likes of the Undertaker & Edge on Smackdown.

Kelly Kelly (c) vs. Raw Diva Battle Royal Winner

There’s 3 likely opponents for Kelly Kelly at Summerslam 2011.

1) Eve Torres

This is the choice that I like the most, not only because Eve is one of my favorite Diva, but because an Eve Torres heel turn would be a nice change. There are strong rumors of WWE wanting to turn Eve heel in the near future. I enjoy her smiling and cheerful babyface personality, but I think she has more to offer as a heel, especially given her improvement on the mic.

2) Alicia Fox

Not sure about this one, but hey she’s featured on the WWE Summerslam 2011 Poster, so that must mean something right? Anyway, I’m not sure why WWE is having Alicia Fox look like Rihana, that’s a lousy gimmick unless she plans to release a music video or something.

3) Beth Phoenix

Will be an interesting match up, given the size and power advantage. Remember when Triple H and Stephanie Mcmahon were WWE World and WWE Women Champion at the same time? How about CM Punk WWE Champion and Beth Phoenix WWE Divas Champion at the same time now?

John Morrison vs. R-Truth

This match is tough to predict, but i got a feeling they will have another couple of matches down the road. So I’m picking Rtruth to get DQ or counted out, thus giving John Morrison the comeback win.

Sheamus vs Mark Henry

This should be a interesting match, at least Sheamus turning face is a fresh angle. I’m going for some kind of double DQ/countout because a loss here would hurt both guys. Mark Henry has been pushed like a monster while Sheamus is being built up as a legit main eventer again.

Wade Barrett vs Daniel Bryan

The battle of the former Nexus leaders, I always thought the Nexus storyline got off to a bad start when WWE had Daniel Bryan fired for violating the PG policy. Anyway, I’m expecting Wade Barrett to lose to Daniel Bryan via a rollup pinfall, the Smackdown MITB Winner has all the momentum.

Ezekiel Jackson vs Cody Rhodes WWE Intercontinental Championship title

Ezekiel Jackson has not impress with the IC Title reign thus far, so I’m hoping Cody Rhodes will pick up the win here. I’m a fan of Cody Rhodes, so obviously I’m biased, but I think Ezekiel Jackson has bad promo skills and little depth to his character (beside being physcially dominating). With Ted Dibiase help, Cody Rhodes should walk out on August 14th the new WWE IC Champion.

Dolph Ziggler vs Alex Riley WWE United States Championship Title.

Follow That? That’s the best you can do with an catchphrase, Mr Ziggler? Okay, I admit that I never take Dolph Ziggler seriously as long as WWE let him use a ridiculous name like “Ziggler”. That’s not really a pro wrestling name is it?

Now Alex Riley, Say It To My Face, that’s a wrestling catchphrase! This guy has good charisma and is solid on the mic. His biggest weakness is his ring work, he reminds me of Lex Luger for some reason. It’s obvious to me that Riley is still not at his peak in the ring, so I would rather see Dolph Ziggler retain the US Championship on August 14th.
