Funk To Be Fined For Postmatch Tirade?

There has been discussion in the Awesome Wrestling Entertainment office about fining Terry Funk for his postmatch attack on referee Dale Robinson following the controversial finish to Funk's match with Tommy Dreamer at the Oct. 15 Night of Legends pay-per-view.

The match ended with a quick 1-2-3 after Dreamer caught Funk in a schoolboy rollup. Television replays seemed to show that Funk kicked out at two, bringing a premature end to a match that had been in the works since 1999.

Funk attacked Robinson after he called for the bell and later flipped him off on his way out of the ring.

Dreamer has reportedly been making a push internally against any fine being assessed on Funk. A source close to the situation said Dreamer has acknowledged the fast count.

"This very well could be Terry's last pay-per-view match, and it's a shame that it had to end this way," the source quoted Dreamer saying of the situation.

AWE President Rick Garrison is expected to address the Funk situation in the coming days. Garrison was on hand for Night of Legends to scout Perry Saturn, who made his return to professional wrestling at the pay-per-view and is reportedly in line for a long-term deal with AWE with his strong showing at the event.
