New England Championship Wrestling (NECW) proudly presents the 8th annual edition of what has become a New England pro wrestling tradition and one of the most unique events of its kind – the IRON 8 Championship, Sunday afternoon, November 13th at the Malden YMCA, 99 Dartmouth Street, Malden, MA with a 3 PM bell time.

Described as “the ultimate test of skill, stamina and strategy,” the IRON 8 pits eight of the best athletes in pro wrestling against each other. The eight men selected square off in an opening round consisting of four singles matches. The four winners then face each other in a 4 way, 45 minute iron man match. Whoever scores the most pinfalls or submissions in 45 minutes is declared the winner and the 2011 IRON 8 Champion.

This year’s field boasts three former world champions and some of the best up and coming athletes both inside and outside of New England Championship Wrestling’s current roster.

This year’s IRON 8 are - former Ring Of Honor World Champion (also a 4 time NECW Tag Team Champion and the only man to win the IRON 8 twice) “Die Hard” Eddie Edwards, Matt Taven, former WWE developmental talent, “Too Cocky” Kevin Matthews, Taka Suzuki, Julian Starr, a great up & coming star from the New York area in “Juicy” Justin Corino, former WWE star Nunzio (who competed in last year’s IRON 8 and is a 2 time WWE Light Heavyweight Champion, as well as a two time ECW World Tag Team Champion) and former ECW, WWE and current TNA star, Jerry Lynn (a former ECW World Heavyweight Champion, as well as a 2-time NWA World Tag Team Champion and a TNA X Division Champion).

In addition, current TNA star, Cookie will be on hand to sign autographs and take pictures with fans in attendance.
