Eric Bischoff Discussses TNA's Creative Changes, Hulk Hogan Returning To The Ring

Eric Bischoff appeared on Monday Night Mayhem, which airs every Monday night at 7:00 p.m. via MondayNightMayhem.com. Highlights from the interview are as follows:
His reaction to Bruce Prichard replacing Vince Russo as the new head writer for the TNA creative team: "A lot has been written about that recently, and a lot has been written with a lack of full disclosure or full knowledge. I think the change that people are reading about probably represents more of a change in process than anything else. Vince Russo is still a vital part of the creative team in TNA and is a very talented, hard-working, and committed individual. Bruce Prichard is as well. I think what we're doing is fine-tuning a process, as opposed to fine-tuning or changing authority and control."
Why he is not worried about Hulk Hogan's decision to step back into the ring one more time and why he is "very confident" in the way that things will turn out when "The Hulkster" collides with Sting this Sunday night at Bound for Glory: "If I thought for a second that Hulk wasn't capable and able to get into that ring safely, convincingly, and in a way to entertain the audience and in a way to protect his health, I would the first person that would step in front of it all and say no. But I don't feel that way. I'm very confident that things are going to turn out great. I'm very confident in Hulk's ability to do what he feels he needs to do to produce the match and a fight in the way that he wants to."
The experience of sharing Bobby Roode's story with the world in his quest to become the TNA World Heavyweight Champion at Bound for Glory: "It's been a real joy to watch Bobby Roode come from way behind in the Bound for Glory Series. He was somebody so far behind that nobody thought that he had a chance, and then to emerge as the winner, and to watch Bobby Roode's story evolve to the point where we watch him week after week come from behind, and then emerge as a front-runner. I think it's a story people can relate to. I think Bobby has done a phenomenal job both in the ring and outside of the ring helping make that story relatable and something the audience can relate to."
His opinion of the X-Division's progression and overall growth/expansion since Destination X: "We're getting there. It's a work in progress. I'm very happy with it, but I think there's a lot of things we can do to enhance and improve on the presentation of the X-Division and really make it even more special than it already may be to some people. I would say on a scale of 1-10, we're at a 4, and I hope to be at an 8 or a 9 in the next three to four months."

Title Changes at WWE Hell in a Cell, News on the Intercontinental Title

- Alberto Del Rio became a two-time WWE Champion at tonight's Hell in a Cell pay-per-view from New Orleans, Louisiana. Del Rio defeated CM Punk and John Cena in the main event.
- Beth Phoenix captured the WWE Divas Title for the first time at tonight's pay-per-view, defeating Kelly Kelly. Beth held the WWE Women's Title three times.
- Cody Rhodes re-introduced the classic white Intercontinental Title at tonight's pay-per-view, and retained it against John Morrison.

- As we have noted before, there have been recent shake-ups with the WWE creative team, WWE.com and the WWE Magazine. All three will soon be working under one umbrella and at the same location. WWE's website and TV studio had been spread out between two buildings about a mile away from WWE headquarters. The magazine was part of publishing on the second floor and creative was located on the fourth floor of WWE headquarters, down the hall from Vince McMahon's office.
They all will now be on the first floor, which used to be Shane McMahon's floor before he left. Everyone with the exception of Brian Gewirtz, Triple H and Stephanie McMahon will be working from there. The move is scheduled to gradually take place from this fall until early 2012.
- At one point in the past week, the idea for the main event at WWE's Vengeance pay-per-view was John Cena vs. CM Punk vs. Alberto Del Rio vs. Kevin Nash in a four-way, but that will likely change. We noted earlier that WWE has a CM Punk vs. Alberto Del Rio singles feud penciled in for this year.

2 Changes in TNA no surrender PPV
Two title changes took place instead of Sunday night in no surrender, as the women's knockout Championship Mickie James winter again hit Aries Brian Kendrick during Austin, to capture the X Division Championship.
The title changes were above as a game line up for the Sept. 23 TNA warned that live event in Springfield, Illinois, Aries as the X Division Champion and winter as a women's knockout champion listed. We reported this two title changes in our * SPOILER * report in the Sunday afternoon.
Robert Roode defeated the bound for glory bully Ray about Tweener series to win and earn a match for the TNA World Heavyweight Championship at bound for glory next month. Roode beat gunner on submission above on the show, bind 52 total bully Ray - Ray beat James storm in the second match of the event. Setting up the tiebreaker game between Roode and Ray. It looks naturally Roode in for a huge TNA-push.

More WWE Creative Changes Revealed - The 'Home' and 'Traveling' Teams

- The WWE creative team reportedly now consists of two groups - the "home team" and the "traveling team." The home team, mainly Stephanie McMahon and Brian Gewirtz, will be going to TV tapings less often with the idea that as soon as RAW is over, they and the other writers who don't travel begin working on long-term programs and the following week's shows. Former Baltimore Sun writer Kevin Eck has been mentioned as a possible member of the "home team."
The "traveling team" will be led by head SmackDown writer Ed Koskey, head RAW writer Dave Kapoor (Ranjin Singh) and a lot of the newly hired soap opera writers. The writers are no longer traveling on WWE's corporate jet and are flying commercial, having to drive from RAW to SmackDown instead of flying on the WWE jet.
"Air McMahon" is now being used for Vince McMahon, Triple H, John Laurinaitis and a few others. One person close to the situation said this is actually preferred over traveling on the jet with the negative being that you don't get home until Wednesday after the tapings. WWE has chartered buses for their writers and producers in the past, depending on the distance between the cities that host RAW and SmackDown that week.

Two changes of title at No Surrender, headed for glory series winner crowned
Two title changes took place tonight at No Surrender as winter regained the knockout Championship Mickie James while Austin Aries to beat Brian Kendrick to capture the X Division Championship.
The title changes were prevented before the event as a party line for September 23 TNA live event in Springfield, Illinois listed Aries as the X Division Champion and the winter as the champion of the knockouts.
Robert Roode defeated Ray bully via pinfall to win the Bound for Glory series and win a match for the TNA World Heavyweight Championship the next month at Bound for Glory. Roode gunner beat through presentation earlier in the show, tying the total of 52 points of bully Ray-Ray defeated James Storm in the second match of the event. This created the play-off game between Roode and Ray.

Several changes revealed by WWE Studios under the direction of Michael Luisi
- As noted earlier, WWE has promoted Michael Luisi at the head of studies of the WWE. Los Angeles Times wrote about a Division Luisi and WWE yesterday for films and revealed some changes to come.
The LA Times reports that Luisi seeks to increase the production of WWE Studios with 6 to 8 movies per year. In addition to creating films, Luisi plans to seek actively to acquire WWE Films release. Luisi is headed for the next Film Festival in Toronto to find movies that can buy WWE Studios.
Luisi also said that from here to the WWE Studios films did not always have a superstar in the lead role. He said, "the creative will determine if or makes no sense having WWE talent in the film".
Finally, under the direction of Luisi, WWE will seek to release his movies through other platforms as well as movie theaters. "Everyone is aware of that is changing the landscape, we seek to create content that could potentially circumvent the theatrical window," Luisi, said.

Raw main changes - six different scripts

As everyone knows now last Monday of the RAW featured night, which was Triple H "responsible" as well as the returns of CM Punk, John Morrison and Jim Ross.
We notice earlier here on the website, that RAW has been completely rewritten before the show goes live. In an update about this, there were six different scripts for RAW, which had circulated in the course of the day actually. One of these scripts had Triple H line bundstege CM Punk with a pedigree. Of course not, that happened. This is the only change to show you how much things on a daily basis in the WWE.
As you would assume most of the obvious scenario would push CM Punk at the top, taking into account his recent storyline angle and fan interest really. With that being said were the most RAW scripts not about that move on CM Punk. They were more about Triple H urge new "authority figure" role. Surprised?
As mentioned, called the original RAW script for CM Punk with a pedigree from Triple H attacked. Alberto del Rio would then come and have cashed in his money in the Bank Briefcase against John Cena at SummerSlam. This would have put Triple H over as a large heel and then led to a storyline with CM Punk.
Of course, all the scripts in addition to one were scrapped and that's what you saw on Monday evening.

Hands of changes in World Championship Wrestling, Hardcore impact main event of Justice establish

On 15 July 2011-10: 44: 58 AM Sting regained the TNA World Heavyweight Championship from Mr. Anderson's last night on impact Wrestling, after fortune and Kurt Angle, disguised as a clown subordinates, attacked each Member of the immortal, avoiding to interfere in the match.
Sting lost the title last month at Slammiversary IX, after outside interference from Eric Bischoff. He invoked his rematch at the show last night clause.
TNA Wrestling announced that Sting will defend his title just won against Kurt Angle the next month to justice Hardcore, which will take place on 7 August. Angle became the number 1 contender to the belt last month at Slammiversary after defeating Jeff Jarrett.
Four TNA World Heavyweight Championship reigns, Sting now shares the record of reigns more with Kurt Angle.

Jeff Jarrett Discusses Kurt Angle, TNA's Recent Changes, the AAA Title

Q: You just got back from a AAA show in Mexico, where you unexpectedly won the AAA World Heavyweight Title. How important is that relationship toward expanding TNA internationally?
A: You nailed it. It's all part of an international presence. I guess you could say the title speaks for itself. The presence that TNA has in Mexico right now, it's all a part of expanding the brand, growing the brand. And it's the continuous evolution, so to speak, of TNA, and just broadening our reach.
Do Q: After so many years of turmoil, how would you describe the dynamic between yourself and Kurt Angle?
A: I've said this on the record many times: I believe when we step into the ring to face each other we bring out the best in each other. We've pulled out some of the hardest-hitting, best matches. It's a healthy business relationship, and an even better family situation. But Kurt's Kurt's and Jeff's Jeff, and put us two in the ring and we're going to have some fireworks, no doubt about it.
Q: TNA has changed the name of its show to "impact wrestling" to emphasize its wrestling content. But there are still a bunch of backstage vignettes. How is the show changing creatively other than just a name change?
A: That is something the viewer needs to decide. Because at the end of the day, from the day this company was founded, we strived to put out the very best in-ring product that we possibly can. Are we going to please everyone? Absolutely not. Are we going to try different things at different times and get great results? Yes. And sometimes we're going to get bad results. But that's all a part of growing a business and taking chances and trying to seize certain opportunities to help a business grow. I've been asked that question before about "impact wrestling." The wrestling's in the name, I totally understand that, the rebranding. But the viewers are going to have to decide on a weekly basis what they like and what they don't like.
