A week removed from Vengeance, one week away from Turning Point.  Aside from the Muppets taking over the Raw Supershow, it was a pretty average week for the WWE as they build to the final PPV of the Big Four, WWE Survivor Series 2011.

It has been a nice breather from how exhausting October was.  It seemed like there was a PPV almost every week or so.  It was also an average week for TNA that was surprisingly not as bad as the last two weeks have been.  It was not anywhere close to good, but at least it was passable.

So without further ado let us take a look at the biggest new in the professional wrestling this week.

 

Monday Night Muppets

Last week’s Raw took place on Halloween and had the Muppets take over as special guests in order to promote their new movie that comes out later this month.  All-in-all, this writer felt it was an entertaining night.  The wrestling was good at best and the promos, which mostly involved various Muppets, were hit or miss.

The mass wrestling community will either love or hate this episode and it will depend on how if you enjoy watching the Muppets.  You have to say, the Beaker and Sheamus moment was amazing.  Ever since Edge compared Sheamus to Beaker on the 900th episode of Raw, wrestling fans have been waiting for the opportunity to see Beaker and Sheamus in the same segment and WWE gave us what we wanted.

Personally, I felt that the wrestler’s involved in these segments with the Muppets were having a lot of fun and it showed on Raw especially Jack Swagger.  It looked like he had a lot of fun working with Kermit the Frog and Gonzo.

For one night only, it did not hurt WWE and it might have given them some mainstream exposure, which is always good for the company.  The WWE has had their fun, now they have to get a little more serious as we move ever-so closer to Survivor Series.

Awesome Truth Meet Super Cena

At the beginning of Raw, a video of the Rock’s response to John Cena’s invitation to tag with him at Survivor Series was shown.  After teasing that he may not accept, the People’s Champ ultimately said he will team with John Cena at Survivor Series to face Awesome Truth.

To further build this match, the Miz vs. John Cena was booked for the main event of Raw.  The match was promoted as a WrestleMania Rematch since Raw was in Atlanta for Raw.  The main event was a pretty good match.  It was better than their match at WrestleMania, but still was not that great.

The main thing this writer wants to talk about is the ending of this match that saw Cena fight off a disguised R-Truth before locking in the STF on the Miz to get the submission victory.  Immediately following the match, R-Truth jumps into the ring to attack Cena, but gets caught in an Attitude Adjustment from Super Cena.

In the matter of one minute, John Cena made the Miz and R-Truth look completely inferior to him and devalued his match at Survivor Series.  Why does John Cena need the Rock to help him fight the Miz and R-Truth when he can beat them by himself?

WWE really needs to make Awesome Truth look like legitimate threats to John Cena and the Rock or they could be in another situation like the burial of Alberto Del Rio back at Night of Champions.

 

It Doesn’t Pay to be Roode

We are only two weeks removed from James Strom capturing the TNA World Title from Kurt Angle.  On last Thursday’s Impact Wrestling saw Strom’s first title defense against Beer Money tag team partner and good friend, Bobby Roode.  A ref bump and a beer bottle shot later, James Strom’s reign as TNA World Heavyweight Champion was over and replaced a newly turned heel Bobby Roode.

The match itself was pretty good, but the ending was absolutely horrible and ruined the whole match in my opinion.  A heel turn does not just happen for no reason.  There should be hints dropped before the turn eventually happens.

With Roode’s heel turn, TNA did nothing to hint at that he would turn on Strom.  All TNA had to do was have a backstage segment where Roode and Strom are talking and Roode starts starring at the title or have Roode show some jealousy towards Strom for winning the title instead of him.  At this point in time, this whole angle feels rushed from the company that likes to plan their storylines months in advance.

It also feels like there was a lot of backlash over Bobby Roode not winning the TNA World Title at Bound for Glory by fans and the locker room that TNA and mainly Hulk Hogan were trying to cover their asses.

If TNA really planned for the long term, they would have had this angle take place over the next five months leading up to their Lockdown PPV next April with Roode eventually winning the title and turning heel down the road.

We will most likely get an explanation why Roode turned heel on this week’s Impact Wrestling, but that will not be enough to convince this writer.  If handled with care and given time, a Bobby Roode vs. James Strom feud could be the best thing TNA will ever have going for them.  By rushing things, TNA could have severely hurt the potential of this feud.

 

Daniel Bryan vs. Mark Henry, Possible WrestleMania Main Event

We got another entertaining night of television this past Friday on Smackdown.  There was a great Street Fight between Cody Rhodes and Randy Orton to kick off the show, which you should all take time to watch.  What this writer wants to talk about was the main event between World Heavyweight Champion Mark Henry and Smackdown Money in the Bank winner Daniel Bryan.

If Mark Henry can hold onto the World Title until WrestleMania, this match could be one of the main events on the Grandest Stage of Them All and we got a preview on Smackdown.  It was your classic David vs. Goliath match where Henry dominated Bryan for the majority of the contest.

Bryan would get in a flurry of moves in on the World Heavyweight Champion, which looked amazing, but to no avail.  Henry would eventually get Bryan back into a corner where he started destroying him with splashes.  The match would come to an end when Big Show, who accompanied Daniel Bryan to ringside, jumped into the ring a hit Henry with his WMD punch.

Even though the match ended in disqualification, it was a great preview of what may and hopefully will come at WrestleMania 28.  For Daniel Bryan to be the superstar to defeat the ever dominate Mark Henry on the Biggest PPV of the Year would catapult the American Dragon to the high heights of the main event scene.

Last Sunday, WWE returned to the Land of the Free for their Vengeance PPV event.  This writer did not get a chance to watch, but from what I have read it was a very polarizing event.  Some people thought it was the best PPV of the year (sorry, this writer does not believe that a B show like Vengeance could dethrone Money in the Bank from that position), but the vast majority believe it was another average non-memorable PPV. 

The Raw and Smackdown that followed Vengeance this week were very enjoyable shows with some of the best matches we have seen in a while.  Just watch the Randy Orton vs. Dolph Ziggler match from Smackdown this last Friday and you will see what this writer means. 

Talking about great wrestling if you have not gotten a chance to check out ROH’s new TV show, you are missing out.  ROH puts on quality wrestling matches week-in week-out.  It might not have the production values of a WWE or TNA show, but if you enjoy pure wrestling over promos and skits ROH is the show for you.

And with that let us rundown the biggest news in this past week of professional wrestling.

 

John Cena to Tag With The Rock, Wait Wasn’t That Already Announced?

Well to the chagrin of the thousand members of the Cenation and a sigh of relief to every other wrestling fan, Super Cena did not leave San Antonio with the WWE Championship.  Del Rio did get the win over Cena in the Last Man Standing Match, but not without some help from the Miz and R-Truth. 

After beating the likes of Triple H and CM Punk at Vengeance, the team of Awesome Truth has set their sights on the Face of the WWE.  Monday rolled around and Laurinaitus put John Cena with Zack Ryder to face Awesome Truth in the main event of Raw.  Before Ryder made it out to the ring for his first Raw main event, the Miz and R-Truth attacked the Long Island Iced Z. 

Without a partner for Cena, the match was changed into a Handicap Match.  Cena went hold-for-hold with Miz and Truth until the Awesome Truth decided to take out Cena rather than get the win.  R-Truth hit Cena with a water bottle and the match was thrown out.  The Miz and R-Truth would go on to attack a defenseless Cena until security and John Laurinaitus rushed out to stop them. 

We even got to see some emotion from the monotone Senior Vice President of Talent Relations before he announced that the Awesome Truth will face John Cena and a partner of Cena’s choosing at Survivor Series. 

To everybody’s surprise (not), Cena chose the Rock to be his tag team partner and now will be waiting for The People’s Champ answer this week on Raw.  The thing that this writer cannot get out of his head is the fact that Cena and The Rock are teaming or joining forces as the poster says at Survivor Series has already been announced about a month ago. 

Why the bluest of blue hell is WWE trying to insult our intelligence with this stupid angle when we already know the result?!  If the WWE kept their mouths firmly shut and had The Rock’s appearance at Survivor Series be more of a surprise, the final angle on last Monday’s Raw would have been amazing. 

By releasing an official poster that has the tagline, “The Rock and John Cena Join Forces.  Never Before, Never Again” a month before this reveal, the WWE killed all the impact of Cena asking The Rock to team with him at Survivor Series and The Rock’s clearly obvious acceptance of that offer this week on Raw.

CM Punk’s Quest for the Gold Meets Johnny Ace

After losing the WWE Championship to Alberto Del Rio back at Summerslam, CM Punk never received his one-on-one rematch for the title that he once held.  Back from fighting the likes of Triple, the Miz and R-Truth and with John Cena off doing other things, it looks to be Punk’s turn to enjoy the limelight of the WWE Championship scene. 

On Raw this past Monday, the Voice of the Voiceless interrupted the WWE Champion Alberto Del Rio’s victory speech and made his case.  That did not help as the Interim GM of Raw and Grade-A Weasel John Laurinaitus would not give the Straight Edge Superstar the match with Del Rio unless he proved himself worthy. 

Laurinaitus wanted Punk to say he respected and in CM Punk fashion, he did technically said he respected the Raw GM, but still found a way to make fun of the Senior VP of Talent Relations, which Laurinaitus did not enjoy. 

So this week on Raw CM Punk will face the World Heavyweight Champion Mark Henry and if he somehow irks out a victory over the World’s Strongest Man, Punk will get his shot for the WWE Title at Survivor Series. 

Hopefully WWE will find a way to give Punk his title shot and not hurt Henry’s credibility.  After the months of Cena dominating the WWE Championship scene, it is a nice change of scenery to see Punk and Del Rio feud for the title.

Bischoff Family Feud

It seems that every week, this writer has something bad to say about TNA.  For the few TNA fans that actually read this weekly article, to quote James Storm sorry about your damn luck.  If the product that TNA put out on a weekly basis was not so downright horrible, this writer would not bash them so much. 

So let us dive into what inane storyline TNA has for us this week.  From the ever-creative minds that gave us a feud between Daivari and a referee, now taking centre stage is a feud between Eric Bischoff and his son, Garett Bischoff. 

Two weeks back at Bound for Glory, Eric revealed something all us have known for a year now that referee Jackson James was Bischoff’s son.  Hoping that Garett could screw Sting out of beating Hogan at the event, Eric’s plan did not come to fruition.  Garett called the match right down the middle, which upset his egotistic father. 

Now we wrestling fans have to suffer for it as this past week on Impact instead of focusing on the TNA World Title, we got this feud shoved down our throats.  Yes, it seems relevant considering how it was set-up at Bound for Glory, but why focus on a feud involving two non-wrestlers rather than give that time to the actual wrestlers? 

Hopefully the ending of these weeks Impact will be the end of it as Eric Bischoff and Ric Flair beat the crap out of Garett and we can move on to other better feuds.  Sadly that does not seem likely as rumours say that TNA is hoping to build towards a Hulk Hogan and Garett Bischoff vs. Eric Bischoff and Ric Flair match for Lockdown next April. 

TNA, personally I don’t know how you do it, but you keep topping yourself week-in and week-out.  Cannot wait to see what crap you will have for us this week on Impact Wrestling.

Mark Henry and the Big Show, a Wrestling Ring’s Worst Nightmare

If you have not heard or seen it by now finish reading this article and go find it.  Wondering what I am talking about?  Look up at the picture above.  Last Sunday at Vengeance, Mark Henry and the Big Show wrestled to a no contest as the two superstars were unable to continue after a superplex that literally destroyed the ring. 

For many this spot has been seen before, but for all the new fans that were unable to watch this spectacle happen back in 2003 with the Big Show and Brock Lesnar, it was an amazing memory for them. 

My thoughts are that it was a pretty good spot that has not been used in a long time so I am fine with it.  Hopefully WWE does not exploit this spot and have it happen every year or so with the Big Show.  It is a spot that should only happen every once a decade or so or it might lose its luster. 

Considering how the match ended Sunday, personally I was surprised nothing has been set in stone for a rematch between Mark Henry and the Big Show.  On Smackdown, Big Show did say that he will get a rematch against Henry, but he did not say when, where and what kind of match.  Reinforcing the ring and having another normal singles match would be nice. 

Sunday showed that the squared circle cannot contain the force of these two giants so why not make the stakes higher and have Henry and Show compete in a Falls Count Anywhere Match at Survivor Series. 

It would be crazy to see the World’s Strongest Man and the World’s Largest Athlete fight each other all around Madison Square Garden.  It would open up the possibilities to have some really destructive spots and culminate the feud between Mark Henry and the Big Show just fine.

Last week, we all witnessed some of the worst wrestling television of the year.  With the WWE in Mexico for Raw and Smackdown, it was possible that we would see a huge improvement over last week’s abysmal episodes. 

Also last Sunday, Total Nonsensical Action had their big wrestling extravaganza in Bound for Glory.  TNA did nothing to show that they are willing to improve and read on to see how Dixie Carter’s wrestling organization put last week’s episodes of Raw and Smackdown to shame (and not in a good way). 

So with that let us rundown the biggest news in the wonderful yet slightly insane World of Wrestling.

 

Last Man Standing

Last week, the WWE announced that Super Cena would get his rematch for the WWE Championship against Mexico’s Favourite Son, Alberto Del Rio.  This week, John Cena (who sadly did not bring his Mexican cousin, Jaun Cena) teamed with Good Ol’ Jim Ross to face the Mexican Aristocrat and the Epitome of Fail known as Michael Cole to determine what stipulation Cena and Del Rio’s Championship Match will be. 

Surprisingly, it was an entertaining main event that saw Cena and Del Rio do all the heavy lifting.  The WWE left the fans happy as Jim Ross made Michael Cole tap out to the Ankle Lock.  After we all learned that John Cena can actually count to 10 (yes, it was a big surprise), the Poster Boy of the Big E revealed that his match with Del Rio will be a Last Man Standing Match. 

Like we did not figure that out from Cena’s long-winded counting.  If the WWE hopes to repair Del Rio’s main event status, he HAS to win this Sunday against Cena. 

Secondly, the WWE has to stop using Del Rio to enhance Smackdown feuds.  Just watch the ending of last Friday’s Smackdown, Del Rio looked really weak getting knocked out so easily by the Big Show.  This Sunday’s main event will definitely show if the WWE really trusts Alberto Del Rio holding the WWE Championship.  If they do not, we are in for another reign of the Almighty John Cena and that would be a bummer.

 

Like this writer mentioned last week, the WWE dropped the ball with the return of the Miz and R-Truth.  If they really wanted a match between those two and CM Punk and Triple H for Vengeance, there were much better ways of getting to the same end result.  Enough of the complaining, this week’s edition of Raw saw CM Punk battle it out against the Miz. 

The match between Punk and Miz was really good as side from Laurinaitus getting Triple H deported, which took away a bit from the match.  It would have been so much easier to just have Otunga come out and attack the Cerebral Assassin than take the focus off the match for a rather ridiculous angle. 

After all the silliness, Punk got the win over the Awesome One, but before the Best in the World could celebrate Miz and Truth administered one brutal beatdown. 

The WWE tried to make Miz and Truth look like a considerable threat to Punk and Triple H, but they would have looked like a bigger threat if they took out both Triple H and CM Punk.  With the ways things are going, this writer does not see Awesome Truth leaving Vengeance without getting buried by Triple H and CM Punk unless we get some outside interference. 

This match will be worth it only if whoever is pulling the strings in the WWE is revealed either at Vengeance or the following Raw.  If this match does not lead into that reveal, what would be the point of having it?

 

Bound for Glory came and went.  Expectations were maybe a little too high as TNA came out their old bag of bad wrestling tricks.  At least, TNA ended the book on the majority of their storylines except one.  Going into Bound for Glory, all eyes were on the main event between Bobby Roode and Kurt Angle.  Roode won the Bound for Glory Series and had been built up to be the next TNA World Heavyweight Champion.  So what did TNA decide to do? 

At the very last minute, they booked an injured Kurt Angle to go over with a controversial yet incredibly stupid finish.  Just because Hulkamania, the “supposed” Greatest Wrestler of All-Time and washed up has-been Hulk Hogan said that he thought Roode was not ready to hold the TNA World Title. 

TO steal one from the Miz, really?!  Roode has been with TNA since 2004 and in that time has put on some the best matches TNA has seen in both singles and tag team competition. 

Pound for pound, Bobby Roode is one of the best talkers and wrestlers TNA has and he has been deemed not ready by one of the men who brought down WCW with their egos.  Personally, I believe TNA does not know much damage they have caused. 

In one swoop, they have made the Bound of Glory Series, which this writer believes will become an annual thing, worthless and showed the world that they care more about the WWE rejects than their own homegrown talent. 

Wait, it gets better.  Let us look at Impact Wrestling show this last Thursday.  In order to supposedly make things right, TNA books Kurt Angle to defend the title.  Would this match be Roode’s rematch after being screwed? 

No because the amazing minds of the TNA creative team thought of an amazing cop out that Angle had Hogan and Bischoff put a clause in the contract that stated after Bound for Glory, Roode would never get a shot at the title as long as Angle remains champion. 

So James Storm steps in to face Angle and the Tennessee Cowboy does what Bobby Roode could not do in 15 minutes in about a minute’s time.  Awesome TNA!  You would not have Angle do the job to Bobby Roode at your biggest PPV of the year, but handing the title to James Storm on Impact Wrestling is perfectly fine. 

Just one question, then why didn’t Storm win the Bound for Glory Series?  And the kicker, this match was the main event of a show that had about 7 minutes of actual wrestling!  

Guess TNA really wants to occupy the spot of worst wrestling on television because Impact Wrestling this week put almost all of the bad shows WWE has put on to shame and not in a good way. 

It is sad to say because of all the people that will lose their jobs, but TNA is burying their own grave.  If Dixie Carter, Jeff Jarrett and everybody behind the scenes don’t all smarten up, there will be no way to save this sinking ship.

Last Sunday and Monday was a busy two days for the WWE.  New champions were crowned in Alberto Del Rio, new WWE Champion, and Beth Phoenix, new Divas Champion, a controversial ending to Hell in a Cell courtesy of the Miz and R-Truth and one unprecedented walkout to end it all. 

The rest of the week was not as busy as those two days, but there was quite a bit more news that happened later in the week.  So let us rundown the biggest news from Smackdown and Impact Wrestling.

 

The WWE Walkout

Well we took a small look at the event now known as the Walkout in the last Silver Report.  There has been quite a bit of news involving this event that circulated throughout the week.  First piece of news was revealed on Smackdown as the over 50 superstars who walked out on Triple H have stated that they will only wrestle on Smackdown as long as the COO of the WWE is in control of Raw because Triple H has relinquished control of the brand to Teddy Long. 

The last two pieces of news was revealed on WWE’s official website.  First, Triple H has announced that John Cena, Randy Orton, Sheamus, CM Punk and the Big Show will be one Raw.  Second, the over 50 superstars, referees, cameramen, announcers and divas have a Solitary Rally before Raw in order to allow their demand that Triple H step down as COO be heard. 

The situation has escalated even further as Triple H has said that even if the employees who walked out on him last Monday come to Raw, he will not let them in.  It seems that this situation will not be solved so easily. 

The fact of the matter is that Triple H brought this problem on himself.  Instead of trying to work out a compromise with the employees that walked out on him, Triple H has let his ego and personal feelings get in the way once again and added more fuel to the fire.  The COO of the WWE has played right into the hands of whoever is pulling the strings in the WWE.  Time is running out fast and Triple H is on the edge of losing this invisible power struggle.

 

Bobby Roode vs James Storm, The Untapped Potential

The main event match of Impact Wrestling this last week saw tag team partners face-off one-on-one, James Storm and Bobby Roode as part of the set of matches Angle set up for Roode.  What us wrestling fans laid witness to was one of the best singles bout TNA has put on in a long time. 

That was until TNA could not resist their ever-so-frequent urge to overbook a match.  A ref bump and some interference later, a great match was ruined.  At least those two showed us how great of a match they can put on. 

Considering that it most certainly looks like Roode will be leaving Bound For Glory with TNA World Heavyweight Championship around his waist, this writer has been thinking.  The best feud TNA can put together and they have been hinting at it for the last month now is a feud between James Storm and Bobby Roode for the TNA Title. 

The Impact after Bound For Glory, you have Beer Money team in the main event against Kurt Angle and another heel like Gunner or Bully Ray.  Beer Money wins the match and Roode and Storm celebrate with the title and some beers. 

While Roode celebrates with the title, Storm takes his empty beer bottle and smashes Roode in the face with it thus busting him open.  Storm would continue to beat down Roode, leaving the champion in a pool of his own blood as he stood over him with holding the TNA Title. 

Given a good story built on Storm’s jealousy for Roode, this feud could give TNA some good buzz for once.  Also if TNA resists their urge to overbook the match they eventually have, Roode and Storm will be able to bring some much-needed prestige to the seeming worthless TNA World Heavyweight Championship.

 

Sting vs Hulk Hogan, The Match Nobody Wanted

Two weeks ago on Impact Wrestling, Hulk Hogan announced that he was “retiring” from professional wrestling.  This last week, it was revealed that Hogan was fooling the TNA fans.  Seriously did you actually believe an old leech like Hulk Hogan would retire from wrestling?  Guess some people are just so gullible. 

Hulk Hogan got so pissed off by Sting revealing his ploy that he accepted that he would face Sting in the match that was already booked for Bound For Glory. 

Did Hogan believe he had a choice in this matter?  And now he will put TNA on the line.  So now if Sting beats Hogan and there should be no doubt that he will, Dixie Carter regains control of the company.  All in all, there is now another addition to the match that nobody wants to see. 

Does TNA Wrestling get that it is not 1999; Sting and Hogan are well far removed from their prime.  For this match to be anything more than a total crapfest, they need a miracle. 

This Sting vs Hulk Hogan Bound For Glory match has been rumoured since this past March and nobody, other than the blind hardcore TNA fans, has wanted it to happen.  Thank God that this match will not be the main event of Bound For Glory as we are in store for a match that could rival how horrible Jeff Hardy vs. Sting from Victory Road, but will definitely be 20 times longer.

 

World’s Strongest Man Meet the World’s Largest Athlete

On this past Smackdown, we say the return of the World’s Largest Athlete, the Big Show.  After a three month hiatus due to an ankle injury courtesy of Mark Henry, Big Show came back to Smackdown for one purpose.  That purpose is to get revenge on Mark Henry for injuring him. 

Mark Henry may have destroyed Big Show back at Money in the Bank, but this Big Show is not the same Big Show he beat back in July.  This Big Show is fueled by revenge and that makes the World’s Largest Athlete much more dangerous as demonstrated on Smackdown. 

When Mark Henry refused to give Show a World Title match at Vengeance, the WWEs resident took it upon himself to beat the holy hell out of the World’s Strongest Man.  Big Show chokeslammed the World Champion through the announce table and was ready to break Henry’s ankle when Teddy Long came out and gave Big Show what he wanted. 

Now at WWE Vengeance 2011, we will see Big Show vs Mark Henry for the World Heavyweight Championship.  This writer is not that enthused about the match these two will have, but this title match should do wonders to legitimize Mark Henry as a dominant World Champion. 

Big Show will be Henry’s greatest challenge yet and with a decisive win over the World’s Largest Athlete, Mark Henry will seem absolutely unstoppable.

The Silver Report has been delayed this week due to this writer feeling under the weather for the past two days.  This week, this writer will be looking out the biggest news coming out of Sunday’s Hell in a Cell PPV and the aftermath on last night’s Raw Supershow. 

The last two days have been huge for the WWE and have pushed forward the big storylines towards the upcoming Vengeance and Survivor Series PPVs.  Now let us rundown the biggest news of the past 48 hours.

 

Game Over, User Wins

It is no doubt that this storyline conspiracy against Triple H as COO has been the most polarizing storyline in the WWE since the Nexus storyline over a year ago.  Either you love the storyline or you hate it.  There are not many people in between.  Personally, I have enjoyed where this storyline has gone so far apart from the whole Nash texted Nash reveal.

The last two days have pushed the COO to the brink as the WWE has fallen into total anarchy.  It all started at the very end of Hell in a Cell.  Alberto Del Rio had just won the WWE Championship when two men where hoodies jumped in the ring with what looked like police batons. 

The two men, who were revealed to be R-Truth and the Miz, attacked John Cena, Alberto Del Rio, CM Punk, the referees and cameramen that were all in the Cell.  Triple H, John Laurinaitus, the police and the whole WWE locker room came out to try and open the Cell.  Eventually somebody brought out wire cutters to open the door. 

Once Miz and Truth saw the cops enter the Cell, they surrendered.  The cops cuffed the two vigilantes and escorted out of the Cell right into an enraged Triple H’s fist.  Triple H beat the crap out of Miz and Truth until WWE officials held Triple H back. 

Then last night on Raw, Triple H was given a vote of no confidence by the WWE locker room sans John Cena, CM Punk and Randy Orton.  It seems that the King of Kings has been defeated by whatever omnipresent body is pulling the strings of the WWE and its superstars.  The battle may be won, but the war is far from over. 

And there is one question that is in the forefront of the minds of the WWE Universe.  Who is pulling the strings of the WWE?  It is obvious that Laurinaitus has something to do with it, but he is not the evil mastermind.  This writer bets it will be Vince McMahon, Stephanie McMahon or the both of them. 

Hopefully this mystery will be revealed at Vengeance because if the WWE puts it off any longer, it could kill all the momentum this storyline has built up.

 

WWE Championship Hot Potato

Another PPV, another title change.  As you read earlier, Alberto Del Rio won the Triple Threat Hell in a Cell match to become a two-time WWE Champion.  With the WWE heading to Mexico later this month to tape both Raw and Smackdown, it seemed ideal that they would like to have a Mexican as the WWE Champion in order to further excite the Mexican fans. 

This writer has enjoyed seeing Del Rio as the WWE Champion, but there is one question that many fans have including yours truly.  What was the purpose of giving John Cena the title at Night of Champions if you were only going to give it back to Del Rio at Hell in Cell? 

Well we will never know the exact answer, but best guess would be that the WWE did not trust that Alberto Del Rio could carry Raw as WWE Champion so they went back to good old reliable, John Cena. Giving the title to Cena two weeks did no favours for Del Rio.  It damaged the Mexican Aristocrat’s main event status more than the WWE believes. 

Also it along with this title change has devalued the prestige of the WWE Championship to the point the WWE Title it feels like a trinket that friends pass around every month or so.  Thank you WWE and your shortsighted booking. 

 

The Beast Known as Mark Henry

While the WWE Championship falters, the World Heavyweight Championship stands as the most prestigious title in the WWE.  The good fortune continues as Mark Henry retained the World Title against Randy Orton at Hell in a Cell PPV. 

A Hell in a Cell match is usually suppose to end a feud, but after the intense fight these two had to start Raw last night, this writer would not mind seeing another match (most likely a No Holds Barred match) between these two superstars on Vengeance or Smackdown. 

The WWE could possibly build a title match between Henry and the Big Show, who returns this week on Smackdown after Henry put him on the shelf at Money in the Bank.  Either way the WWE decides to go should be enjoyable considering how great Henry has been as of late.  It has been a nice change of pace to see a dominant heel in the WWE. 

There has been a surplus of whiney, wimpy heels in the WWE as of late.  To see one dominate the competition like Mark Henry has is a much needed breath of fresh air.  Hopefully the WWE will resist their urge to play hot potato with the World Title and give Mark Henry a long dominate reign as World Heavyweight Champion.

Beth Phoenix WWE Divas Champion

Glamorous Champion Guess third time was the charm for the Glamazon.  In her third attempt on her third consecutive PPV, Beth Phoenix finally captured the Diva’s Championship after a little help from Natalya.  After a few delays, the Divas of Doom can start their domination of the Divas division.  Sadly only one Diva still stands in their way, a sore loser and crazy blonde by the name of Kelly Kelly. 

Last night on Raw, we saw Kelly go absolutely nuts on Beth Phoenix, which surprised many fans and even the Glamazon.  So the model has little fight left in her and will be demanding her rematch for Vengeance. 

Considering how dangerous Kelly Kelly has become to Divas of Doom’s domination and Beth’s reign, Beth and Natalya should make an example of the former Diva’s Champ at Vengeance.  By taking out Kelly Kelly, it would put the Diva’s division on notice and solidify their dominance as the Queens of the Divas.

Last week on the Silver Report, we took a look at what happened at Night of Champions.  This week we will look at the aftermath of the WWE’s September PPV and other big news from the week that was.  So let us dive into the rundown.

 

Triple H’s Reign of Terror Continues

The COO of the WWE had a big week this last 7 days.  First, he met CM Punk in the main event of Night of Champions.  Triple H would beat the Straight Edge Superstar after three separate run-ins from the Miz & R-Truth, John Laurinaitus and Kevin Hash numerous ref bumps and going all Super H on everyone in order to keep his position. 

On Raw, Triple H seemed to be business as usual.  He announced that the main event of Hell in a Cell would be John Cena vs. Alberto Del Rio vs. CM Punk in a Triple Threat Hell in a Cell match for the WWE Championship and listened while Punk accused Laurinaitus as the person pulling the strings in the WWE.  Triple H seemed to be putting the business in front of his personal feelings. 

By the end of the night, the COO let his personal feelings take control yet again as he fired both the Miz and R-Truth.  That happened after the Miz and R-Truth apologized for their actions and was subsequently fined.  That leaves the question, can Triple H properly run the WWE or will he fire anybody who even looks at him funny? 

The firing of two big stars in the WWE will not happen without its consequences, so this writer is interested to see where this storyline goes.  I have heard some theories that all the recently fired superstars (the Miz, R-Truth and Kevin Nash) could get together and form the reincarnation of the NWO.  So we will just have to wait and see in the coming weeks.

 

Two Sin Caras Are Better Than One, Right?

The Smackdown before Night of Champions, it was revealed that there is not just one Sin Cara in the WWE there is actually two.  It has been rumoured for a while that the WWE was going to go through with a Sin Cara vs. Sin Cara feud, it was not specified when it would happen. 

With what transpired this week on Smackdown as both Sin Caras were involved in a match with Daniel Bryan, it looks like we will see a match at WWE’s upcoming WWE PPV, Hell in a Cell. 

It should be a great high-flying match considering that both Sin Caras speak fluent Spanish from wrestling in Mexico predominantly.  While the match should be good, there is one thing WWE should do to make it more enjoyable. 

That is the WWE should give each Sin Cara different color schemes for their ring attire.  Yes, part of the mystery is that both Sin Caras look exactly the same, but it will get extremely confusing to follow the action with two completely identical superstars especially for the casual fans and kids.  Even with the possible confusion, expect some great high-flying luchador action from these Mexican superstars.

 

Ring of Honor Begins a New Era

This past Saturday saw the debut of Ring of Honor Wrestling’s second TV show.  After their deal ended with HDNet earlier this year, ROH looked for another way to get their product on TV.  This new deal is with Sinclair Broadcasting Group.  So ROH will be seen on all Sinclair stations for fans in the U.S. 

For all the international fans, they can find each episode of ROH Wrestling on Ring of Honor’s website every Thursday.  You will just need to make an account on their website.  There is a free membership and a paid membership, which offers discounts in the online store and more backstage info. 

For all those wrestling fans that are tired of watching the sports-entertainment of WWE and TNA or just want to watch some quality wrestling, give Ring of Honor a chance.  You will not be disappointed.

 

Hell in a Cell, Sooner Than You Think

We are one week removed from Night of Champions and one week away from Hell in a Cell.  Yes, there is about a week until the WWE’s next PPV event.  Can the WWE build a full card for Hell in Cell in one week?  We will have to see, but going from previous experiences most PPVs with less than four weeks of build are usually bad to okay level. 

After the okay PPV performance that was Night of Champions, the WWE really needs to recapture the steam it had this summer with Money in the Bank and Summerslam.  This week ahead of the WWE will be really important because it has to prove to its fans that Hell in a Cell is definitely worth dropping another 50 dollars for. 

This predicament just shows that the WWE needs to limit the amount of PPVs it puts on a year so they can properly build these events and make them worth the 50 dollars fans spend on them.

It has been another busy weekend for this writer so here is this week edition of the Silver Wrestling Report.  In honour of last night’s WWE PPV, this edition of the Silver Report will be all about WWE Night of Champions 2011. 

In this very article, I will not be talking about what happened in the CM Punk vs. Triple H match.  Need to see what happens on Raw tonight with the WWE’s biggest storyline before this writer gives his analysis.  There will definitely be a story on the continued saga between the Voice of the Voiceless and the COO of the WWE on next week’s edition of the Silver Report. 

Now let us rundown the biggest new in the Wonderful World of Professional Wrestling.

Super Cena Signals the Burial of Alberto Del Rio

For weeks on end, John Cena and WWE Creative made Alberto Del Rio look pathetic.  He was booked to be cowardly heel champion, but Cena took it to a new level by completely burying the WWE Champion every promo he did during the build-up for Night of Champions. 

The final nail in Del Rio’s coffin was last night in Buffalo when Del Rio dropped the WWE Championship to Super Cena to the dismay of majority of wrestling fans.  In one month, the WWE completely destroyed Alberto Del Rio’s main event status, something that took them about a year to build. 

Also they crushed the credibility of the WWE Championship.  Does anybody actually care about the WWE Championship?  With Cena’s umpteenth WWE Title win, the title has been made to look like a trinket that changes hands almost every PPV. 

The great times of this past summer seem to be over and the WWE has gone back to their old disappointing ways. After this debacle, the WWE really needs to go into damage control and fix the damage they caused to both Alberto Del Rio and the WWE Championship before it becomes irreversible.

The Divas of Doom Storyline Undermined Yet Again

Going into Night of Champions, Beth Phoenix looked like she would definitely beat that Barbie Doll known as Kelly Kelly for the Diva’s Championship. 

Night of Champions was Beth’s hometown and there was no way Kelly Kelly would get another fluke win over the Glamazon.  Well that did not happen as Kelly Kelly got another cheap win over Beth Phoenix.  Does WWE really want to bury Beth Phoenix or make Kelly Kelly look like better wrestler than she actually is? 

As it stands, the WWE has undermined the whole Divas of Doom storyline yet again.  There is no way fans will ever believe that Natalya and Beth Phoenix are considerable threats to the Diva’s Title or even the Diva Division if keep getting bested by Kelly Kelly and here Barbie Doll friends each and every week. 

As with the current WWE Championship, the WWE needs to figure out some way to inject some excitement into this storyline soon or fans will lose interest quick.

The World’s Strongest Heavyweight Champion

If there was one thing the WWE did right at Night of Champions, and has been doing right for a long while now, it was the World Heavyweight Championship scene.  At Night of Champions, Mark Henry inducted the almost unbeatable Randy Orton into his signature Hall of Pain and won the World Heavyweight Title in the process. 

From what I have heard the match was just okay, but it was followed by an excellent promo by the newly crowned World’s Strongest Champion. 

Much unlike the WWE Championship at this point in time, the World Heavyweight Championship actually feels important and meaningful in the annals of the WWE.  Giving the title to Mark Henry should make things a little more interesting on Smackdown. 

Also combined with the incredible streak Henry has been on as of late, it should catapult the career of whoever beats Henry for the title to the stratosphere.  The World Heavyweight Title scene has continued to impress and I personally cannot wait to see what will happen next.

Just want to say, I'm sorry, the readers of silver report.  There were a couple of hectic weeks for me in August, so I write an article not in a position, been every week.  Show this no longer with a silver report every other week.  I do it as a priority to a silver report on tribal wrestling every Sunday or Monday.

Now, since my small apologies out of the way, it was pretty quiet week in the wonderful world of wrestling.  To WWE night of Champions built up and has built TNA, no. of surrender.

With Alberto del Rio vs. John Cena for the WWE undisputed Championship and Randy Orton vs. Mark Henry for the World Heavyweight Championship for a night of Champions and no matches for no. of surrender, there should be many buildings in the next few weeks.  Let us diving so you directly in the biggest stories of the week.

, That really pulls the strings?This issue has in the minds of the WWE universe was staying CM Punk at ext since Kevin Nash Powerbomb.  It seems, that a power struggle broke art with Vince McMahon as fired behind the action which has the on-screen CEO over a month ago.  It must be something, Nash has not revealed or Triple H has to lie, because things do not turn to add.

Nash received a text from Triple H phone, it punk vs. John Cena at ext, but Triple H refused to the winners of the CM, Nash, that send text message.  So, who would have access to the COO of mobile without his knowledge?

The obvious would guess Stephanie McMahon, Triple H woman, but that seems a little too obvious.  My guess in this game the idea would be John Laurinaitis.  Since Vince is raised, has animal or animal was his nose in Triple H company firmly.  Last week on raw, he had a meeting with Kevin Nash, which happens to the content of this session is off.

Now this week, animal, or animal Triple H, said that Nash in a car accident raw to leave and was checked into a hospital in Edmonton.  Cost is the kicker, that Kevin Nash all beautiful and also was CM Punk of the No. 1 Contendership for the undisputed WWE champion.

Animal or animal was up some misleading business, but he could also work for someone higher, possibly by the name of Vincent k. McMahon.  At the moment all we can do is, is to speculate, that actually pull the strings in the WWE, because I believe that we will find until after night of champions in two weeks.

The Miz and R truth have been overlooked now universe and the WWE brass for months by the small Jimmies in the WWE.  So decided instead of against the WWE resident comedy Act, Santino Marella, the Miz, and R truth take over and attack the conspiracy against them head on.

The Miz and R truth Santino Marella attacked and cut an excellent promo, with the birth of a new Heeltastic version of "what is to" ended.  This new team could bring some good results.  With Kofi Kingston and Evan Bourne as a new WWE Tag Team Champions was able to legitimize the team of the Miz and R truth feud with the new tag champions to the tag team Division breathe new life into and the WWE team title.

The other possibility would be that the Miz and R truth refuse to fight until their voices be heard.  Their demands start press further, much attacking superstar to superstar, such as the nexus.  The Miz have already and R truth shows that she great chemistry on the microphone and I personally have no doubt, they have great chemistry in the ring, no matter what decision the WWE to this new team.

For the few years TNA wrestling past become worse with only a few moments, from the darkness to light up.  This little story is one of those moments appears.  For all of the bound for glory series has Samoa Joe won a single point.  In fact, he has negative 10 points.

All Joe frustrated he has found, for his strip pitch literally wipe out competition to a solution.  Last week, Joe took Devon from the BFG series and this week he did the same the Pope and an other competitors.  The competitor was the BFG series point leader and unbeaten, Crimson.

Crimson game with Kurt Angle Samoa Joe tries, amazing little brother red attack, but Crimson she fought the Samoan submission machine.  After the game Crimson challenged Joe impact wrestling match next week, but Joe took it to take, Crimson.

Joe grabbed a 2 by 4, put injured leg and MICA 2 through 4 together with Crimson leg of Crimson.  While Crimson cried pain, Joe screamed, "I could have not broken your strips, but I broke your f * ing leg!" come to the cameraman in the face.

It was an excellent way, end impact wrestling and it did an amazing job, how dangerous is to sell a wrestler Samoa Joe.  Hopefully this one has push Samoa Joe winning the BFG series and go to face Kurt angle for the TNA World Heavyweight Championship at bound for glory.

 Arena in Wichita, Kansas, the WWE will put on a special edition of SmackDown called SuperSmackdown next Tuesday at the INTRUST Bank.  Two great games were for this large Edition of SmackDown, Alberto del Rio vs. Sin Cara and Christian vs. announced Randy Orton in a steel cage for the World Heavyweight Championship.

Together with the Superstars of SmackDown are the Superstars of raw at the fair.  Of the kind the WWE has the support of this episode of SmackDown, it should be really good.  A live Smackdown is rarer than a raw 3 hours been, so if they come in the rule, it's a big deal.  I hope SuperSmackdown is a great success this Tuesday, so we get the more live Smackdowns in the future.

Things heated up with Ext immediately imminent this past week.  The largest show of summer will come from Staples Center in downtown Los Angeles, California, later on this evening.

So in honor of big show this week is silver report overview the biggest stories in ext leads.   Let's dive right in.

CM Punk, John cena and Triple H… Oh my!

This weeks raw saw the continuation of the affair between two WWE champions, John Cena, and CM Punk.  At the top of the show Triple H made a big announcement, the may be the result of the Ext of main event could influence.  This announcement was that the COO was appointed to the guest referee for the undisputed Championship game.

This supplement was unexpected, but this writer hopes that we will finish reminding no Screwjob due to Triple H the guest ref appears.  It was great to see such as WWE, the announcement skillfully an intelligent debate between Michael Cole and run to comment and punk and Cena the reaction, which was treated as we the addition due to COO's ego driven was very credible.

She led directly to the signing of the agreement end the show.  Instead of the deposit of the table and beat the crap out of a, CM Punk, John Cena, decided something new try others and just talk.  It was a refreshing sight to a signing of the agreement as it see.

Cena and punk discussion in a large and completely believable that the for a good ten to fifteen minutes went on.  Punk and Cena were doing everything in their the importance makes also with this match a short build stress that there has been WWE.  These two did a great job and there is no doubt that all eyes can you ext they come.

Doom come in order to terrorize the WWE divas

Last week, Beth Phoenix and Natalya made a statement.  This statement was that they not be, sit back and watch cute models running women's section in the ground.  You go to a stand and take the Division itself.  This week on raw and SmackDown, both began their reign of terror.

Raw defeated Beth Phoenix eve before Kelly Kelly Glamazon caught a nasty trick.  On SmackDown together Natalya and Beth up like AJ and Kaitlyn to destroy.  Kelly Kelly is their acquisition of weak Diva hopes Division still only in their own way.

Beth Phoenix has turned the title with the current Diva champion on Ext, but there should be no doubt that this Natalya to Beth will be page.  The opportunities that stacked looks clearly against them Kelly Kelly over rule as the Diva's champion.  It's time for an actual women hold the butterfly belt wrestling and may bring the Division of mediocrity.

…And he has a plan

The feud between Christian and Randy Orton, similar to has really heated like the temperature in these summer months until these last few weeks.  Both have played some great spirit games how try them both under other skins.  Christian pinned just last week even Orton in a tag match.

Last Friday we have seen, Christian, weasel his way out of the game no holds barred with Orton in the Ext, but in vain trying.  Later on this evening, picked up a victory over the Great Khali Orton. After the game, Christian came with a grin on his face and told Orton that he has some sleeves.

A very interesting explanation of Christian, what could be Captain Christians plan?  Hopefully it will not be how that beat Miz plan, Cena on the limitation.  Christian's small statement adds another facet to their no holds barred match at the Ext.  This game could steal even the show.

SummerSlam, is it really the biggest party of the summer?

After the road comes to WrestleMania wrestling the second season, is this summer season.  WWE in the rule has lost much steam during the summer months, but not this year could make or break a year in the eyes of the fans and in recent years, this season.  Over a period of month, WWE has programming of not worth watching on may have gone television.

With such a large boom for money in the Bank and its construction, it was time to take advantage of and wrestling fans that give best Ext in years WWES.  Unfortunately they don't have.  With less than a week before the big event, there were only five games for the big show announced.

None of these five matches some of the largest talent of such as Rey Mysterio, the Miz, WWE included del Rio, just to name a few with Cody Rhodes or Dolph Ziggler.  Large matches free such as Rey Mysterio vs. the Miz and John Morrison vs. were R truth have booked for this pay-per-view weeks should be, but WWE decided to give away TV.  There is nothing wrong with doing that, but only if doing so does not hurt the pay per view.

WWE definitely another match on the Ext card present, but it is frustrating, if the entire card before the pay-per-view tell us how to meet additional makes you look like it is not important enough to hype.  WWE deleted really the ball with hyping up ext this year.

It comes not close to feeling like the second largest pay-per-view of the year; It feels as a secondary display.  We need to only find you come under this evening, if ext huge shadows, which most recently has cast money months in the Bank can step and really are the biggest party of the summer.
