Undertaker’s Status, CM Punk Update, New TNA Trademark, More On WWE Cable Network
- WWE are trying their best to keep CM Punk from leaving the company. They have offered him a new long-term deal and have drafted his real life girlfriend Beth Phoenix to Raw to keep him company.
As previously noted he’s burned out and wants a break.
- The Undertaker is still hurting following Wrestlemania and there’s no news on his return date. He was last seen backstage at Monday’s Raw with his wife Michelle McCool.
- TNA have trademarked the term Impact Wrestling for a upcoming marketing campaign.
- WWE are now 100% going ahead with the planned cable network. As previously noted they will be showing vintage footage, current shows like NXT, and more interestingly non wrestling programming.
One concept is to create shows (or take on established shows/brands) and then go on tour like wrestling events. For example a regular show based around the Harlem Globetrotters to promote tours.
It’s possible some WWE stars will take on acting roles.
The idea is not to be a “wrestling” channel, rather a network that just happens to show traditional WWE shows alongside other programming.
