The final buildup toward Sunday’s Money In The Bank 2011 PPV, Marioman9112 bring the WWE SmackDown Review 07/15/11 (July 15th 2011). The show is kicking off with an Promo for Christian vs Randy Orton MITB World Title Match.

Randy Orton Loses Temper
-WWE SmackDown Review 07/15/11 (July 15th 2011)

Josh Matthews would start the night off with an interview with the viper Randy Orton, reminding Orton that if he was DQ’d at MITB he would lose his World Heavyweight Championship.

Randy Orton would assure Josh that he would not lose his temper and get himself DQ’d at MITB. Christian would go onto try to get under Orton’s skin. Ultimately this would backfire as this segment would end with Orton calling Christian pathetic.

Segment Rating: 2.5 out of 5.

Analysis: While this was a cool promo to watch there wasn’t much too it it was really more of the same back and forth between Christian and Orton that has been goin on for the past month now.

Intercontinental Championship Match
Ezekiel Jackson vs Ted DiBiase
-WWE SmackDown Review 07/15/11 (July 15th 2011)

This match about as a result of Ted picking up the win against Ezekiel Jackson on the previous edition of SmackDown. This match turned out to be an interesting one for me as Zeke looked like an average competitor rather than a complete dominator like he usually does.

Ted would pull out all of the stops in the early goings of the match managing to keep the upper hand for the first half of the match. Ted would attempt dream street which would fail and ultimately led to Zeke hitting his finisher to win the match after the reversal.

Match Rating: 3 out of 5.

Analysis: I have to give DiBiase some real credit as of late he has really gotten his focus back where it should be and it shows. While he didn’t win the title tonight I can see only good things in Ted’s future.

Cody Rhodes Confronts Ted DiBiase
-WWE SmackDown Review 07/15/11 (July 15th 2011)

Cody confronts Ted about losing his match and tells Ted to put on a paper bag but suddenly changes his mind at the last second and says he’ll give Ted one more chance. Cody would go onto threaten that if Ted lost one more match he’d personally come down and put a bag on his face.

Segment Rating: 2.5 out of 5.

Analysis: It is most definetly a weird way to inspire someone, but in my opinion you gotta do what you gotta do.

Daniel Bryan vs Cody Rhodes
-WWE SmackDown Review 07/15/11 (July 15th 2011)

This was another match in the rivalry that has been building between these two superstars. As expected this was a very close match between two of the most talented young superstars in WWE right now. Very early on Bryan would go for the lebel lock but Cody would escape and retreat outside the ring.

This match would be very back and forth between these two awesome superstars with submission attempts from both sides. Ultimately Cody would win the match after Bryan landed on the ring rope and Cody kicked him in the head.

Match Rating: 3.3 out of 5.

Analysis: I always love to see matches between the young guys in WWE since they are the future of the company. This shows me that with the right conditioning these guys are ready to be the future of WWE.

Sheamus vs Sin Cara
-WWE SmackDown Review 07/15/11 (July 15th 2011)

This would be a unique match to say the very very least these 2 superstars had never meet before tonight and there styles couldn’t be more contrasting, you have the brawler Sheamus vs the high flyer Sin Cara. Both of these superstars would initially be thrown off by the moves of the other.

It wouldn’t take long however before Sheamus size would come into play and allow him to dominate Sin Cara. Sheamus would remain in control for most of the match and it looked as though Sheamus was gonna win as he put Sin Cara on his shoulders for the win however Sin Cara would counter it into a small package rollup for the win.

Match Rating: 3 out of 5.

Analysis: This was a really good match to me, I kind of like seeing Sin Cara out of his element. No doubt Sin Cara is one hell of a luchadore but if he is to last in the US wrestling scene, he has to adapt his style to deal with brawlers like Sheamus.

Big Show & Mark Henry MITB Promo

Mark Henry would show a video to remind us of why he and Big Show have a problem in the first place. During an episode of SmackDown last month the Big Show would attack Mark Henry and he would have to be taken out on a stretcher. Big Show would say he had done this to wake up Mark Henry to bring out the real Mark Henry everyone knew was in there somewhere.

Big Show then said that although he had done that, Henry shouldn’t direct his anger towards the Big Show. Mark Henry would go onto say that he was better than Big Show which Show would of course beg to differ with. They were about to fight when Teddy stopped them saying to save it for Sunday.

Segment Rating: 2 out of 5.

Analysis: I personally haven’t been much of a fan of this feud as the giant vs giant feud is used only to often in WWE. I think Big Show, Mark Henry, and the WWE universe will be better off when this feud is done.

Rosa Mendez vs Kelly Kelly

I personally have never been a big fan of Rosa she just doesn’t fit in right with the rest of the divas in my opinion she just doesn’t have the polish of the others and looks sloppy in the ring. With that being said this was a very short very one sided match. Rosa had no offense to speak of and before you knew it Kelly hit her finisher and the match was over.

Match Rating: 1.8 out of 5.

Analysis: Don’t get me wrong I absolutely love divas matches especially when Kelly Kelly is in one, however they may as well not have a divas division any more for how much attention as they pay to it. The Divas matches aren’t long enough to really mean anything and are easily the most forgettable part of the night.

Justin Gabriel vs Heath Slater
-WWE SmackDown Review 07/15/11 (July 15th 2011)

This match came about after these two lost the WWE Tag Team titles last week as each of them blamed the other for the lose. This match had some very interesting potential for me as you have two former partners going after each other, they know each other inside out.

It was a close match between these two with both of them going back and forth a lot before Justin Gabriel would hit the 450 splash on Heath Slater for the win.

Match Rating: 3.2 out of 5.

Analysis: I know a lot of people may not agree with me on this one but I gave this match a higher rating because this is the first time in almost a year we have seen either of these superstars in a 1 on 1 contest that isn’t a squash match, and they did really good.

World Heavyweight Champion Randy Orton vs Kane
-WWE SmackDown Review 07/15/11 (July 15th 2011)

This was an important match for both of the competitors in it as which ever competitor won would gain momentum going into their respective matches at MITB Sunday. The match was fast and furious while it lasted these two superstars would trade momentum back and forth and this truly was an awesome match to watch.

However before it could come to a proper end Christian would appear on the entrance ramp distracting Orton. Orton chase Christian around the ring, Christian would hop the barrier before throwing a towel at Orton to cause the DQ.

Chaos would continue to ensue in the ring with Kane getting involved as well. Ultimately Randy Orton was left the only superstar standing in the ring.

Match Rating: 2.5 out of 5.

Analysis: Honestly I never thought this match would end fair and I was right the ending was appropriate going into MITB this weekend. However with that being said I’d love to see a fair match between Orton and Kane.
