– As noted earlier here on the website, last night’s episode of WWE RAW drew a 3.25 rating for the three hour episode, with a 3.37 rating for the show’s standard two hour timeslot. The 3.37 would have been the highest Raw since May 23rd. The show had a total average of 4.74 million viewers for the three hour period and 4.95 million viewers for the two hour period. The show had 4.31 million viewers in the first hour, five million viewers in the second hour and 4.91 million viewers in the final hour.

The show was the #2 watched show on cable TV behind the Monday Night Football game in both overall viewers and males in the 18 – 34 and 18 – 49 demographics.

– This week’s three-hour RAW did a 3.2 cable rating, with an average of 4.7 million viewers. The show did hours of 2.9, 3.4 and 3.4. As for the normal timeslot of 9-11EST, the show did a 3.4 cable rating. That is way up from last week’s 2.9. That means The Rock drew huge numbers for WWE.

– Jim Ross tweeted today that he will not be at the WWE Survivor Series PPV this Sunday. I’m not booked at Survivor Series @this time. I am booked in Waco to see OU-Baylor Sat. IF I set up sauce stand @ MSG Sunday, wud u come by?, Ross tweeted.

WWE RAW Supershow:

*Michael Cole se introduce y dice que Jim Ross esta hoy en el TD Garden. Cole dice que Ross aceptará su reto y muestra una serie de dibujos en son de burla hacia Ross. Aparece Jim Ross. Cole dice que tiene tres retos para Ross y si Ross gana, Cole se ira de los comentarios. El primer reto es una competencia de pulso, la cual es ganada por Ross, Cole dice que perdio por la respiración a barbacoa de Ross. Cole dice que el segundo reto es una competencia de baile y que los fans decidirán quien gano. Ambos proceden a bailar en el ring, el público elige a Ross como el ganador. Cole dice que la última prueba es de peso, Cole pesa 200 libras mientras que Ross 239. Cole se declara como ganador y se burla de Jim Ross.

*Aparece CM Punk, Cole le pregunta porque lo interrumpe. Punk dice que su tiempo ya ha terminado. Punk dice que era más que evidente que Cole no le iba a dar una oportunidad de triunfo a Ross y que todo esto ha sido una pérdida de tiempo, excepto al baile, Punk dice que Ross es mejor locutor que Cole. Punk dice que RAW se esta convirtiendo en algo insoportable y que cuando vuelva a ganar el Campeonato de la WWE va a hacer todo lo posible para que RAW sea un gran show. 

*Aparece John Laurinaitis, y dice que sus seguidores en Twitter quieren ver el reto de Michael Cole. Punk dice que no le importa los seguidores de Laurinaitis. Laurinaitis anuncia CM Punk & Big Show vs. Alberto Del Río & Mark Henry y desea suerte a Punk. Cole se burla de Punk, y le dice que se disculpe. Punk sonríe y mira a la cámara, Punk aplica un cabezazo y Anaconda Vice para luego irse.

*Matt Striker esta en Backstage y llega una limusina. Striker dice que es The Rock, pero el que sale de la limusina es MICK FOLEY! *En Backtage se ve a The Rock caminando.

*En Backstage Santino Marella esta jugando WWE'12 y enfrentando a The Rock vs. John Cena. Zack Ryder entra y le dice a Santino que pedira su oportunidad titular por el Campeonato de los Estados Unidos. Ambos discuten entre quien ganara entre The Rock & John Cena pero los dos estan de acuerdo en que derrotaran a Awesome Truth en WWE Survivor Series este Domingo.

*Aparece Vickie Guerrero, dice que Christian se lesiono en la reciente gira europea y no podra estar en el Equipo Barrett en Survivor Series. Vickie sigue hablando, Dolph Ziggler interrumpe y dice que reemplazara a Christian.

*Ziggler dice que no sabe porque se llama Equipo Barrett cuando él es el unico con un Campeonato. Dolph dice que se enfrentara a Mason Ryan y asi el Equipo Orton se hara una idea de lo que va a pasar el Domingo.

*John Laurinaitis se encuentra en ringside con Michael Cole. Laurinaitis ordena a que Ross salga de la mesa de comentarios. Ross sale y Cole lo amenaza con demandarlo. Cole se sienta y Ross es nuevamente despedido. Cole dice que hablo también con David Otunga y demando a CM Punk.

2. Mason Ryan derroto a Dolph Ziggler por Descalificación luego de que Vickie Guerrero abofeteara a Ryan

*Después de la lucha Ziggler trata de irse, pero John Morrison llega y lo hace ingresar al ring, Ryan sigue castigando a Ziggler con una Full Nelson.

*En Backstage Mick Foley esta caminando y se encuentra con Zack Ryder. Ryder le dice a Foley que firme su petición por el Campeonato de los Estados Unidos. Foley firma la petición y se dirige al ring.

*Aparece Mick Foley ante una gran ovación. Dice que no hay lugar como el hogar. Dice que esta aquí para hablar de un asunto serio y ese es el equipo que realizarán The Rock & John Cena en WWE Survivor Series, Foley los autoproclama como The Rock 'n' Cena Connection. Foley sigue hablando y llega John Cena.

*Cena es recibido en reacciones mixtas. Cena y Foley hablan del respeto mutuo que se tienen. Ambos siguen hablando de la lucha de Cena & The Rock en Survivor Series, Foley muestra su camiseta que es la mitad de la camiseta de Cena & The Rock, Foley también muestra un vídeo de Cena.

Cena dice que esta aquí para que lo aplaudan y lo abucheen, dice que este es uno de los peores segmentos y tiene que terminar. Foley dice que va a arreglar esto ... suena la música de THE ROCK!

*Aparece The Rock ante una gran ovación y castiga a Mick Foley con el Rock Bottom. Cena se ve sorprendido y luego se ríe para después atender a Foley.

*Se anuncia una lucha de capitanes: Randy Orton vs. Wade Barrett más tarde en el programa.

3. Sheamus derroto a Jack Swagger vía Brogue Kick

*En Backstage Zack Ryder habla con Las Gemelas Bella para que firmen su petición de su lucha titular, ellas se van porque aparece Alberto Del Río. Del Río les dice a ellas que le encantaría hablar con ellas pero que tiene una reunión con Laurinaitis, Del Río les dice que se divertiran después de que derrote a Punk en Survivor Series. Ryder les dice que pueden celebrar en Long Island.

*Aparece Natalya acompañada por Beth Phoenix. Aparece Kelly Kelly acompañada por Eve Torres & Natalya. Se muestra un vídeo de Kelly Kelly en Maxim.

4. Kelly Kelly derroto a Natalya vía Roll-Up

*Se vuelve a anunciar la aparición de The Rock más tarde en el programa.

*En Backstage John Laurinaitis conversa por celular con Brodus Clay. Laurinaitis le dice que quiere que su debut sea a lo grande y que será eclipsada en el show de hoy ya que esta The Rock, asi que debutará la próxima semana. 5. Alberto Del Río & Mark Henry derrotaron a CM Punk & Big Show luego de que Del Río cubriera a Punk tras un Slam de Henry

*Después de la lucha Del Río aplica Armbar a Punk, hasta que Big Show regresa al ring y Del Río se va corriendo.

*Nos muestran un vídeo de lo ocurrido hace un buen rato con The Rock aplicando Rock Bottom a Mick Foley.

*Aparece Santino Marella, dice que estuvo a punto de ganar La Batalla Real a inicios de año pero que por culpa de Kevin Nash no lo pudo hacer.

*Aparece Kevin Nash, Nash castiga a Santino con un Botazo en la cara, y luego corta una promo diciendo que él esta aquí y HHH no. Nash aplica Jacknife Powerbomb y se va.

6. Randy Orton derroto a Wade Barrett vía Descalificación luego de que Cody Rhodes atacará a Orton

*Ambos salieron acompañados por el resto de sus equipos: Team Barrett (Wade, Cody Rhodes, Dolph Ziggler, Hunico & Jack Swagger) Team Orton (Randy, Sin Cara, Kofi Kingston, Sheamus & Mason Ryan).

– The official Twitter feed of ESPN’s College Gameday announced Tuesday that John Cena, a Division III All-American center at Springfield College, will be the celebrity guest picker for this Saturday’s show at University of Houston.

– Speaking of John Cena, he is featured on the cover of the latest issue of The Wrestler.

– Maria Kanellis announced during last night’s AfterBuzzTV broadcast for Monday Night RAW that she will be returning to the squared circle on February 25, 2012 for New York City based promotion Family Wrestling Entertainment.

It will be her first match in two years and outside of WWE—she last competed at the February 23, 2010 WWE Superstars taping. She was released from her contract with WWE three days after the event and recently resurfaced on the wrestling scene to support her boyfriend, Ring of Honor talent Mike Bennett, at independent shows. She stated last Tuesday on Facebook that she had resumed wrestling training.

- In an update from the earlier report, former WWE Diva Maria’s return to the ring will be for New York City based promotion Family Wrestling Entertainment on February 25, 2012. That will mark 2 years since her last match on WWE Superstars.

- TNA’s Hulk Hogan praised the The Rock following Raw last night. He wrote on Twitter:
“The ROCK looked jacked, in perfect shape, dieted down and in the zone! He looks better than any wrestler/actor I’ve ever seen! total respect HH”

- Kurt Angle continued the back and forth with UFC President Dana White during an interview with PW247radio.com. This is currently Kurt’s side of the story:

“I’ve had a lot of talks with Dana White. While he’s denied the offers, Dana and I respect each other enough for us not to say exactly what was offered. The thing was, he wanted me to be ready in a short time and I couldn’t do that. I wanted months, he wanted weeks. We’re good friends and I hope he has great success. But you know what, he’s said some negative things about me in the press. I still love him to death. I did pass his physical, meaning I was ready for competition, but he wanted me to be ready in four to six weeks and I couldn’t do that. It’s impossible. There’s also the fact that I’m signed with TNA and Dana didn’t want anyone fighting for him and wrestling at the same time. So Dana White, God bless you. Whatever you say, I’ll respect that because I know you wanted me to fight for you and wanted me to be your guy.”

- Jim Ross failed The Michael Cole Challenge:
Is anyone in the WWE Universe surprised that The Michael Cole Challenge was a sham? After weeks of threats, the sniveling announcer finally subjected J.R. to three tests for the opportunity to take over his announcing position. First, the Sooner beat Cole in an arm wrestling match. Then, J.R. schooled him in a dance competition. But the WWE Hall of Famer couldn’t pass the final challenge — a comparison to see who weighed less.

Cole may have been entertained by his swerve, but he was the only one. Outraged by what he described as a colossal waste of time, CM Punk stormed the ring and vowed to make Raw interesting again. Of course, he was quickly interrupted by Interim Raw General Manager John Laurinaitis who announced a huge bout for tonight — CM Punk & Big Show vs. WWE Champion Alberto Del Rio & World Heavyweight Champion Mark Henry.

Unimpressed by the GM’s declaration, The “Voice of the Voiceless” immediately went about making Monday night more entertaining by locking Cole in a brutal Anaconda Vise.

- Mick Foley arrived at the arena:
As Michael Cole writhed on a trainer’s table somewhere in the arena, WWE Raw SuperShow received an unexpected guest — Mick Foley. Arriving in a limousine, the former WWE Champion revealed that he spared no expense to show The Rock and John Cena a night they will never forget.

- Intercontinental Champion Cody Rhodes & Hunico def. WWE Tag Team Champion Kofi Kingston & Sin Cara:
Beaten and unmasked by Randy Orton on SmackDown, Cody Rhodes showed the WWE Universe his face — and an even nastier attitude. Claiming that The Viper actually emancipated him by taking his mask, the twisted Superstar brutalized two of the competitors he will face at Survivor Series before pinning Kofi Kingston.

- Mason Ryan def. U.S. Champion Dolph Ziggler by Disqualification:
After WWE.com announced that Christian pulled out of Team Barrett at Survivor Series due to an injury, Vickie Guerrero revealed that Dolph Ziggler will be taking the sketchy Superstar’s place on the squad. Apparently, the United States Champion was trying to stay in one piece for Sunday night as Vickie interfered early in the match by slapping Mason Ryan across the face. But before the cocky competitor could get out of the arena, he was tossed back in the ring by John Morrison and driven into the mat by the massive Welshman.

- Mick Foley presented “John Cena, This is Your Life!”:
In an attempt to unite John Cena and The Rock before their big Survivor Series bout, Mick Foley presented a candid look at the Cenation’s leader’s extraordinary life. Hearkening back to a moment Foley shared with The Brahma Bull on Raw more than 12 years ago, the former WWE Champion introduced Cena’s little league coach, father and former tag partner, Bull Buchanan, to the ring.

Unfortunately, things did not go as The Hardcore Legend planned. First, the coach embarrassed Cena when he brought up a traumatizing childhood strikeout, then B-2 claimed that his former partner ruined his life and finally Cena’s dad chastised the WWE fans who boo his son.

Before things could get worse, The Rock hit the ring and delivered a devastating Rock Bottom to Mick Foley, saving his Survivor Series partner from any further embarrassment.

- Sheamus def. Jack Swagger:
Before they clash on opposing teams at Survivor Series, Sheamus and Jack Swagger battled one-on-one with the powerful Celtic Warrior claiming victory.

- Kelly Kelly def. Natalya:
Following the announcement that Eve will face Divas Champion Beth Phoenix for the title this Sunday at Survivor Series, the beautiful challenger’s best friend and current Maxim covergirl Kelly Kelly proved that she was more than just a pretty face by beating the smug Natalya.

- WWE Champion Alberto Del Rio & World Heavyweight Champion Mark Henry def. CM Punk & Big Show:
Before teaming with Big Show in an exciting preview of Sunday’s two World Title bouts, CM Punk was ambushed in the locker room by the vicious Alberto Del Rio and stomped into the ground. (WATCH) Bravely, The Straight Edge Superstar still made it out for his match, but he couldn’t stop The Mexican Aristocrat in his weakened state and was pinned by the WWE Champion. After the bell, Del Rio continued his assault, punishing Punk with the cross armbreaker.

- Kevin Nash attacked Santino Marella:
Proving he’s one of the most dangerous Superstars on the roster, Kevin Nash interrupted Santino Marella and powerbombed the Italian Superstar, nearly driving his body through the canvas. The big man then took a moment to gloat, saying that he’s here tonight while Triple H is sitting at home.

- Randy Orton def. Wade Barrett by Disqualification:
Coming off a huge victory over Randy Orton on SmackDown, Wade Barrett locked up with The Viper again tonight, but a clear winner could not be decided. Six days before they captain opposing teams at Survivor Series, The Viper and the British competitor saw their bout turn into bedlam as the members of their teams stormed the ring and started an all-out brawl. The ring may not be able to contain these 10 competitors on Sunday.

- The Rock & John Cena faced off with The Miz & R-Truth:
There’s a reason he’s known as The Most Electrifying Man in Entertainment. For the better part of 20 minutes, The Rock enthralled a sold-out crowd in Boston’s TD Garden with little more than a microphone. Calling out his Survivor Series opponents, The Miz & R-Truth, The Brahma Bull was soon joined in the ring by John Cena.

Although they stood together against The “Awesome Truth,” the WrestleMania opponents couldn’t help but take a few shots at each other. But when things got physical, the Cenation leader and The People’s Champion were on the same page as they put the boots to their arrogant opponents.

It was a definite sign that on Sunday, Cena and The Rock may be able to work together.

A week removed from Vengeance, one week away from Turning Point.  Aside from the Muppets taking over the Raw Supershow, it was a pretty average week for the WWE as they build to the final PPV of the Big Four, WWE Survivor Series 2011.

It has been a nice breather from how exhausting October was.  It seemed like there was a PPV almost every week or so.  It was also an average week for TNA that was surprisingly not as bad as the last two weeks have been.  It was not anywhere close to good, but at least it was passable.

So without further ado let us take a look at the biggest new in the professional wrestling this week.

 

Monday Night Muppets

Last week’s Raw took place on Halloween and had the Muppets take over as special guests in order to promote their new movie that comes out later this month.  All-in-all, this writer felt it was an entertaining night.  The wrestling was good at best and the promos, which mostly involved various Muppets, were hit or miss.

The mass wrestling community will either love or hate this episode and it will depend on how if you enjoy watching the Muppets.  You have to say, the Beaker and Sheamus moment was amazing.  Ever since Edge compared Sheamus to Beaker on the 900th episode of Raw, wrestling fans have been waiting for the opportunity to see Beaker and Sheamus in the same segment and WWE gave us what we wanted.

Personally, I felt that the wrestler’s involved in these segments with the Muppets were having a lot of fun and it showed on Raw especially Jack Swagger.  It looked like he had a lot of fun working with Kermit the Frog and Gonzo.

For one night only, it did not hurt WWE and it might have given them some mainstream exposure, which is always good for the company.  The WWE has had their fun, now they have to get a little more serious as we move ever-so closer to Survivor Series.

Awesome Truth Meet Super Cena

At the beginning of Raw, a video of the Rock’s response to John Cena’s invitation to tag with him at Survivor Series was shown.  After teasing that he may not accept, the People’s Champ ultimately said he will team with John Cena at Survivor Series to face Awesome Truth.

To further build this match, the Miz vs. John Cena was booked for the main event of Raw.  The match was promoted as a WrestleMania Rematch since Raw was in Atlanta for Raw.  The main event was a pretty good match.  It was better than their match at WrestleMania, but still was not that great.

The main thing this writer wants to talk about is the ending of this match that saw Cena fight off a disguised R-Truth before locking in the STF on the Miz to get the submission victory.  Immediately following the match, R-Truth jumps into the ring to attack Cena, but gets caught in an Attitude Adjustment from Super Cena.

In the matter of one minute, John Cena made the Miz and R-Truth look completely inferior to him and devalued his match at Survivor Series.  Why does John Cena need the Rock to help him fight the Miz and R-Truth when he can beat them by himself?

WWE really needs to make Awesome Truth look like legitimate threats to John Cena and the Rock or they could be in another situation like the burial of Alberto Del Rio back at Night of Champions.

We are only two weeks removed from James Strom capturing the TNA World Title from Kurt Angle.  On last Thursday’s Impact Wrestling saw Strom’s first title defense against Beer Money tag team partner and good friend, Bobby Roode.  A ref bump and a beer bottle shot later, James Strom’s reign as TNA World Heavyweight Champion was over and replaced a newly turned heel Bobby Roode.

The match itself was pretty good, but the ending was absolutely horrible and ruined the whole match in my opinion.  A heel turn does not just happen for no reason.  There should be hints dropped before the turn eventually happens.

With Roode’s heel turn, TNA did nothing to hint at that he would turn on Strom.  All TNA had to do was have a backstage segment where Roode and Strom are talking and Roode starts starring at the title or have Roode show some jealousy towards Strom for winning the title instead of him.  At this point in time, this whole angle feels rushed from the company that likes to plan their storylines months in advance.

It also feels like there was a lot of backlash over Bobby Roode not winning the TNA World Title at Bound for Glory by fans and the locker room that TNA and mainly Hulk Hogan were trying to cover their asses.

If TNA really planned for the long term, they would have had this angle take place over the next five months leading up to their Lockdown PPV next April with Roode eventually winning the title and turning heel down the road.

We will most likely get an explanation why Roode turned heel on this week’s Impact Wrestling, but that will not be enough to convince this writer.  If handled with care and given time, a Bobby Roode vs. James Strom feud could be the best thing TNA will ever have going for them.  By rushing things, TNA could have severely hurt the potential of this feud.

 

Daniel Bryan vs. Mark Henry, Possible WrestleMania Main Event

We got another entertaining night of television this past Friday on Smackdown.  There was a great Street Fight between Cody Rhodes and Randy Orton to kick off the show, which you should all take time to watch.  What this writer wants to talk about was the main event between World Heavyweight Champion Mark Henry and Smackdown Money in the Bank winner Daniel Bryan.

If Mark Henry can hold onto the World Title until WrestleMania, this match could be one of the main events on the Grandest Stage of Them All and we got a preview on Smackdown.  It was your classic David vs. Goliath match where Henry dominated Bryan for the majority of the contest.

Bryan would get in a flurry of moves in on the World Heavyweight Champion, which looked amazing, but to no avail.  Henry would eventually get Bryan back into a corner where he started destroying him with splashes.  The match would come to an end when Big Show, who accompanied Daniel Bryan to ringside, jumped into the ring a hit Henry with his WMD punch.

Even though the match ended in disqualification, it was a great preview of what may and hopefully will come at WrestleMania 28.  For Daniel Bryan to be the superstar to defeat the ever dominate Mark Henry on the Biggest PPV of the Year would catapult the American Dragon to the high heights of the main event scene.

With the presence of the rock as a full protagonist the same:

Segment in the Jim Ross Michael Cole in various challenges (pretty ridiculous, by the way) defeated. CM Punk, John Laurinaitis appears, even advertises so important fight for tonight: CM Punk and big show vs. Mark Henry and Alberto del Rio. - Actor Jonah Hill of films such as Knocked Up and Superbad will be guest hosting next week’s Raw supershow.

- Last week’s episode of WWE Friday Night Smackdown drew a 1.95 rating, with 2.95 million viewers. That’s down from the previous week’s 2.19 number.

- Former WWE star Michael Tarver was backstage at last night’s Impact Wrestling tapings. He was not used on the show so was probably just visiting friends or inquiring about a future spot.

- Former WWE Diva Maria has stated that she’s training to return to the ring, but hasn’t specified which promotion she’ll be working for. TNA is an obvious speculation, but there are the odd Indy shows that would pay her well for one time gigs.

así es esta es mi primera sección como la han tenido muchos redactores tratare de hacerla cada viernes y se trata de las distintas facetas de un luchador como face ,heel o neutro Durante toda su carrera .Empezando con el luchador del momento CM Punk .

Empezando por su papel en ROH (ring of honor) primero siendo face y radicalmente cambiando a heel , muchos datos de su época en roh no tengo pero su apariencia era está siempre tubo su papel cómo straight edge :

Una vez su paso por ROH se unió  a TNA donde no se le permitió tener mas de una promoción, lamentablemente tampoco supe mucho de su paso por tna , pero paso mas tiempo en ROH con su mejor amigo Colt Cabana su look en TNA Wrestling era el siguiente :

Ya entrando en datos que si manejo WWE le ofresio un contrato primero en ECW donde en lo particular creo que punk desarrollo su mejor personaje como face .CM Punk permaneció invicto en la ECW donde tubo un rol fundamental hasta el cierre de dicha empresa su estilo era este:

Después de ECW fue transferido a la marca roja Raw durante el draft donde canjeo su maletín después de una serie de sucesos, fue transferido a smackdown Recordando que punk todavía era face  paso siendo heel tras canjear otro maletín ganado gracias al MITB utilizandolo contra el aclamado Jeff Hardy donde tubo un giro a heel donde formo el S.E.S :

Luego de un largo periodo como heel fue nuevamente transferido a raw para formar otro grupo llamado Nexus donde también marco un punto culmine en su carrera teniendo una gran rivalidad contra John Cena :

Posterior a esto desarrollo su feudo contra “John Boy” como lo llamaba a Cena involucrando a Vince en sus asuntos , dejando a nexus y pidiendo una lucha contra cena en su ciudad natal chicago donde hasta hoy es muy querido y aclamado por muchos tanto así que supero a las ventas de Cena dando un giro al parecer no definido como el ” mejor en el mundo” :

- Following last night’s Raw the terms “Boots To Asses” and “Cena’s lady parts” were trending worldwide topics on Twitter.

Just before The Rock’s segment he Tweeted the following to give it a boost:
“Seconds from electrifying RAW. Time to feed the beast and make 3 words trend worldwide.. #BootsToAsses”

WWE shop is now also selling shirts with the “Boots To Asses” phrase on it.

- The person who played John Cena’s Little League coach during his This Is Your Life segment was Indy star “Fabulous” Johnny Vegas.

- Prior to Raw going on air Michael McGillicutty defeated JTG with a swinging neckbreaker, in a dark match for the live audience.

After the show went off air, Zack Ryder, CM Punk, John Cena and Randy Orton defeated Mark Henry, The Miz and R-Truth after Ryder in an 8 man tag match.

In the weeks leading up to Survivor Series the WWE seems to be keeping a holding pattern where just enough is done so that the storylines going into the PPV are advanced. Whereas TNA are running around like a headless chicken, changing champions and number one contenders like nobodies business. Is it their fault or are the fates just against them? Maybe this is karma’s revenge for re-hiring Jeff Hardy? Whatever the case, let’s get on with the report…

Weekly Top Ten:

1st Place: Mark Henry (10/10)

Coming in at the top of the chart is the World’s Strongest Champion. Henry took out Bryan last week and this week he pushed things even further by dominating him completely. I’m hoping that this is all a subtle build for when Bryan cashes in his case at Wrestlemania. If Henry can keep the title then Bryan could spend the next few months working against big men to get better so that he can finally beat Henry. Sure this angle would massively sell Bryan’s skills short, but so does being completely dominated by Henry and being made to look like he doesn’t belong in the same ring with him in favour of the Big Show, so a title win at the end of it all would at least be a silver lining.

2nd Place: Wade Barrett (9/10)

As proclaimed by the man himself; the Barrett Barrage continues. It’s nice to see the WWE taking an interest in Barrett, who clearly has the talent to go far, again. The best part about the Barrett Barrage so far is that it proves that with just a couple of weeks with sustained wins a guy that is floundering can become an upper-mid card player who gets a clean win over one of the company’s top guys. The question now is whether another talented guy in Drew McIntyre will get a shot seeing as how Christian can’t compete at Survivor Series and will need a replacement.

3rd Place: Alberto Del Rio (8/10)

In the build up to their match at Survivor Series, Punk may have got one over on him on the mic, but Del Rio settled the score by dropping Punk through a catering table on Raw. Del Rio as champion still hasn’t been all that riveting, despite him having the classic gimmicks of a heel valet and being ‘non-American’, at least in WWE terms. If Punk doesn’t take the title off him then hopefully he will improve over time.

4th Place: The Miz (7/10)

This week was a good week for the WWE, at least on Raw, since as well as Del Rio continuing his feud with Punk they also realised that the Awesome Truth need to be seen as being better than Cena when he doesn’t have a partner. The Miz getting a pinfall victory over Cena with the help of Truth shows why he needs a partner and doesn’t detract from his momentum at all because they technically cheated to beat him. It is telling that this week was so good when the company’s two biggest stars were beaten in the middle of the ring with basic heel tactics. That is all you need, no run-ins, no stupid stipulations, just simple moves like a thumb to the eye. It puts the heel over for getting such a victory and the face loses no momentum because everyone knows that the heel cheated to win, if anything it just adds momentum to a feud, it’s win-win and that strangely enough is always good.

5th Place: R-Truth (6/10)

The Miz’s partner comes next after he cunningly grabbed Cena’s leg and made him look like a fool and made Ryder look like he was almost the stronger link in the team of him and Cena. The only worrying thing is that with the goodness that came with this week’s results it is likely that the WWE are just getting us prepared for a face-dominated Survivor Series with Team Orton and Rock & Cena going over. However that might at least mean that Punk will win the WWE title again, which can’t really be a bad thing, and I might even say that the other results would be worth it in this case.

6th Place: Jack Swagger (5/10)

The All-American American got his revenge this week on Santino on a Muppet-free Raw. Swagger is part of Team Wade and hopefully he won’t just act as fodder in the match. To be fair when you look at the line up for the match, despite the lack of build, it could actually be a pretty decent match, with most of the WWE’s top mid-card talent facing off. As long as the match is given enough time it could go down as a Survivor Series classic.

7th Place: Hunico (4/10)

Another man on Team Barrett, and perhaps the only guy who I’m uncertain about, is Hunico. Although now that he has Epico and Primo in tow I’m slightly interested in if these accomplices will play a role in the match when it comes to spots involving him and Sin Cara. Since losing his mask Hunico has done little but ground and pound so I’m waiting to see how his high-flying style is effected now that his persona has changed. I’m hoping he breaks out the aerial assault again soon, but I suppose it is good that he can wrestle a more western ‘WWE-friendly’ style if need be.

8th Place: Johnny Curtis (3/10)

The winner of NXT season four returned to the show this week with a new personality and a new haircut. I quite liked that he was able to show off a bit more charisma in his new persona, but I was a little thrown by how…festive he was acting. At least he has taken on a completely new way to present himself, right down to his mannerisms. Of course if the WWE would have been smart they could have worked him into the whole ‘shoot’ outsiders angle, given him a future endeavours around the time that Masters got his and then brought him back in tow with Truth and Miz since he had been promised a tag team title shot and never gotten it. Even if the Awesome Truth just used him to get a tag title shot and then betrayed him by having the Miz fill in for him would have been good since then he could have come back as a face later. These are all potential opportunities Curtis could have been given, but instead he got stupid video promos, squashed in his one match on Smackdown, and now is back pissing about on NXT, still there is always hope for him, maybe he should get his own Youtube show.

9th Place: Epico (2/10)

Primo’s cousin and Hunico’s other partner in crime managed to take out the Usos this week with him on Smackdown. I like the way that the WWE have played this so far, keeping this potential faction low profile so that they could gradually gain notoriety or fade into the background if they don’t work out. It makes sense to set them up now as well since they can feud with Sin Cara for a couple of months and then if that works out they could go onto a returning Rey Mysterio, which would give him, and possibly Sin Cara, something to do for Wrestlemania.

10th Place: Kevin Nash (1/10)

Big Sexy makes himself sound a bit dodgy this week as he came out to deliver a promo against Triple H. Nash being back in shape could be a good thing, as long as he goes down the Booker T route, if rumours are to be believed, of being able to have short feuds with current guys and putting them over. However when it comes to Nash he might be more inclined to go the Hogan route and actually bury most of the young talent that goes against him. I certainly hope the former is the case, and if it were to be the latter then I hope that his feud with Triple H is his last one and he will leave before he drags any of the guys who are actually still relevant down in favour of pointlessly putting himself over.

The Face Off: NXT Fail – Now there is no prize and its been going on for ages.

This is a simple point about the announcement that next year NXT and Superstars will be cancelled. Cast your mind all the way back to the start of this series when it was announced that the winner would earn a place on NXT season six, a shit prize to begin with and now one that the contestants can’t even get because there won’t be a season six. Of course it’s not like the other prizes were anything to sing about, after all Wade Barrett got a title shot but wasn’t allowed to win at the last second, then Kaval got a shot and failed before getting fired. Kaitlyn has barely done anything since winning, and Johnny Curtis, well the less we say about him the better. You could argue that the NXT competitors only have themselves to blame since most of the actually talented guys have gone on to have at least some role in the company proper, but still with pointless and annoying challenges and no real structure can you really blame them for failing? NXT really is the embodiment of the WWE at the moment, something that started out so promising and then faltered because the people upstairs lost interest in it and began treating it like a joke. Bottom line is that while the top people are untouchable they will always pass on the responsibility and not be held accountable for their actions so that they don’t care whether their ideas truly succeed or fail, they just want to collect their pay slip.

Face the Facts: TNA’s MMA Partnering

As of late it’s not often that I sing the praises of TNA, however I have to say that they are actually being smart by partnering with Belladonna so as to get both companies some exposure to mutual fanbases. A lot of times a partnership like this would be ineffective or even counter-productive, but TNA bringing out spokespersons to sit in on commentary and have each other put both companies over is a nice way to combine the world’s of wrestling and MMA. As long as they tow the line of MMA is more skill based and TNA is more out-there entertaining and avoid the whole ’wrestling is fake’ bollocks then things should work out just fine…but then again this is TNA.

On the Rise: The Return of William Regal

This was just a great treat on Superstars and it’s a shame for anyone who missed it. Of course Regal ended up putting Bryan over but his reaction from the Liverpool crowd was immense and it showed that Regal still holds a real presence in the minds of the fans. The student versus teacher angle of the match was nice and the short interval in Regal’s music where they played his original ‘Real Man’s Man’ theme was great and brought in a real connection between the two since Bryan is always going on about being manly. In the end this was just a classic match between two mat technicians, with a bit of sentimental value thrown in and it was enjoyable. It’s just a shame that other veterans like Kevin Nash can’t take this classy route and instead try to steal the spotlight to squeeze in another lacklustre fifteen minutes of fame in their already decorated career, what else do you have to prove?

Flat-Footed: Liver-pool and Scousers

This was just embarrassing. When Cole said that stuff in that typical ignorant American ‘I have no idea how things are really pronounced and I can’t be bothered to find out even though it’s my job’ attitude it just made me depressed. Now you could claim that Cole was just playing up to his heel character, but I don’t think so, I think he was honestly trying to sound like he knew what he was talking about and that is just sad. The WWE is doomed in terms of announcing, doomed I tell you!

That’s all for this week. Turning Point was this Sunday and maybe with it there will come some interesting developments in TNA, but as of now the company seems hard pressed to even be bothered to come up with a sustainable storyline for the main event, let alone actually pull itself together as a company. The WWE continues to trundle along, making mistakes and more importantly missing opportunities that they set up for themselves. Hopefully Survivor Series will be something to watch as it is one of the big four PPVs, but for now we will just have to wait and see. This is James Wright signing off.

The Rock’s Return and the revival of the Attitude Era / The Rock teased Stone Cold to get in the head of DX / King Booker revived the Crown / DiBiase, Jr. revived the Million Dollar Belt

This strategy does not deal with victory on the battlefield itself. Rather, it focuses on how the resurrection of older and forgotten ideas and institutions can be reinvented, adapted to modern times, and shaped by the people of today to help them accomplish their goals.

Tomorrow night on RAW, The Rock makes his glorious return to RAW prior to his in-ring return at Survivor Series next Sunday. It’s pretty safe to say that the Rock’s return is universally considered to be a good thing. The WWE bringing the Rock back…and also bringing back Stone Cold to host Tough Enough last summer, are examples of the WWE acknowledging the success of the Attitude Era. In order to revive the Attitude Era, the WWE needed to “raise the corpses” of two of the Attitude Era’s most dominant superstars…both as faces and as heels.

Current WWE programming often gets knocked by viewers who remember the Attitude Era, whose Attitude Era favorites will Always be their favorites, and who have grown to dislike the kid-centric cartoonishness of some of the current superstars and the PG-ness of current programming. The John Cena-haters sometimes seem to outnumber his fans in the crowd at WWE events, and many fans have accepted CM Punk as a fan-favorite because he reminds the fans in many ways of Attitude Era superstars.

Having said that, nothing recreates the feeling of the Attitude Era like bringing back the kings of the Attitude Era—Stone Cold Steve Austin and The Rock. Presently, the focus is on The Rock…the most Electrifying Man in Sports Entertainment. The Rock is slated to face John Cena at Wrestlemania XXVIII, and their upcoming Survivor Series partnership will undoubtedly factor into the storyline leading up to their match at Wrestlemania.

And all of this will hopefully make older fans forget that they are living in a PG era. When Stone Cold and The Rock are around, they don’t seem to be bound by the PG rules in the same way that current superstars are bound. By having Attitude Era superstars return as edgy as they were a decade ago, the WWE is recreating the feeling that it IS a decade ago and that the WWE is in the midst of an Attitude Era revival. Ultimately, we will see what kind of success the strategy has. Part of the reason for the success of the Attitude Era was because the conditions were ripe for it, and most of the fans wanted that sort of programming. Superimposing a new Attitude Era every once-in-a-while on top of PG programming may be pushing the bar too high for younger viewers while annoying older viewers of what they’re really missing out on. Or, it could all go swimmingly well for everybody.

Currently, the Rock is the object being raised to revive the spirit of the Attitude Era, but the Rock himself has revived ideas to help him gain an advantage over opponents. In mid-2000, The Rock was constantly at war with HHH, the rest of D-Generation X, and the McMahon family. In order to gain a psychological advantage over his enemies, The Rock threatened the return of Stone Cold Steve Austin, who had been absent from WWE programming after (if I recall correctly) a neck surgery. The Rock hinted at the Stone Cold return in a manner that got into the heads of his adversaries. Steve Austin dice were mysteriously found in DX’s mirror. A life-sized cut-out of Austin startled and scared members of DX. Beer cans were found in a closet, suggesting Stone Cold’s presence. A radio in the closet played the Stone Cold Steve Austin theme song. There was an Austin look-alike in the bathroom, and DX was already terrified at this point. A cement delivery was brought to the arena, reminding everybody about what Austin had done to McMahon’s corvette. Finally, an actual Texas Rattlesnake was in the building. All of these omens, by totally freaking out HHH, D-X, and the McMahons, gave the Rock a decided advantage against his arch-enemies. At Backlash in April, 2000, Austin did return and interfered and attacked both HHH and Vince McMahon, enabling the Rock to retain the WWE Championship. So the Rock’s use of “borrowing a corpse to raise the spirit” succeeded.

Booker T successfully used this strategy in 2006, but in his case, the “borrowed corpse” was the institution called King of the Ring. On May 21, 2006, Booker T won the King of the Ring Tournament and became known as King Booker. Throughout WWE history, some Kings of the Ring (Harley Race, Macho King, King Haku) have worn the crown better than others (Stone Cold, William Regal, and Sheamus). In the case of the former, the King persona really added to their wrestling character and brought them success. In the case of the latter, the King title did nothing to augment their wrestling character. The way Booker T revived the role of King of the Ring was so effective in its hilarity that it resurrected Booker T’s career and led directly to him earning the World Heavyweight Championship at the Great American Bash in July, 2006. At the time of the 2006 tournament, there had not been a King of the Ring in four years, since 2002. King Booker dressed like a king, treated people as if he was their king, anointed his wife Sharmel as Queen, looked off into the distance with a calm austerity befitting of royalty, spoke with an attempted British accent, and drank with his pinky raised. All of these royal additions to his character “raised the spirit” of Booker T’s career. Granted, Booker T employed some devious tactics to secure victories on occasion and used numerous other strategies…but his initial use of “Borrowing the corpse to Raise the Spirit” is what set the table for all of his success in 2006.

Ted DiBiase, Jr. attempted a similar revival of the Million Dollar Championship but met with failure. His father, the Million Dollar Man, was one of the first famous obnoxiously rich characters in the WWE, and he fashioned a diamond-encrusted gold championship belt that he could wear. In the mid-1990s, the Ringmaster Steve Austin basically lost a strap match to Savio Vega on purpose so that DiBiase would be kicked out of the WWE and Austin would not have to wear the Million Dollar Belt. DiBiase, Jr. brought it back into prominence on April 5, 2010. However, DiBiase did not do anything creative with the title. DiBiase’s character was a bit flat, and he does not have the kind of charisma that his father had. DiBiase, who had been expected to get a big push and possibly challenge The Undertaker with the Wrestlemania streak on the line, ended up watching his career stagnate while he wore his father’s championship belt. When the championship was stolen from DiBiase Jr, returned to DiBiase Sr, and then offered again to Junior, Junior refused the title, thus unceremoniously ending…at least for now…any talk about the Million Dollar Championship. DiBiase Jr’s attempt to “borrow the corpse” of the Million Dollar Championship to bring success met with failure. His time with the artificial title was lasted almost a year, yet having this championship had no long term positive benefits for DiBiase.

In conclusion, every time an old concept / superstar / event / championship is resurrected, the person doing the resurrecting is “borrowing the corpse to raise the spirit.” As with all strategies, the execution must be flawless and the person using the strategy must be capable of carrying it off. The Undertaker’s career is littered with examples of his resurrection, and it would have been too easy to discuss him in this article. The Rock and King Booker succeeded. Ted DiBiase Jr failed. The WWE overall, in its attempt to revive the Attitude Era, can succeed if the writers provide superstars with the right game-plan within the current PG framework and if the wrestlers can convincingly pull it off.

A few weeks ago... Or a month... Or any amount of time, I'm too lazy to look it up, I had a bit of a Twitter complaint in one of my columns. Professor Hall even requested a copy on video, which gave me an opportunity to swear to a camera. Now I know how rare of an occasion that is, so it'll have to take with me here. At that point of time, Twitter handles had begun to appear the names of wrestlers during his entrance. Whom he met in a short period of time, but has been much it, that things would be much worse? Yes, I'm writing an entire column about this.

Before turning to my personal feelings about Twitter, let me say that I get to embrace the social media is a good way to allow its roots to become a participant. The problem, however, is for those of us who decides to refrain grammatical abortion of textspeak reference of 140 characters, hash-tag carried out there, the product is wasting our time. It was one thing that he would only announce how to follow during the show, but now is being more important than wrestling is alienating the portion of the audience that does not give you a fix on Twitter... For example, tell me!

Last night, I saw the show in DVR and still had trouble staying awake. The height of my fun was marked a CM Punk is face didn't impress when Michael Cole was talking with him. But something strange happened last night, apart from another feud announcer taking too long for any particular purpose, and making me happy was at work while he was wrestling was interrupted Monday night Twitter.

One of my favorite authors returned last night, but Twitter made sure not to let the focus shifted from social media! A small table in the corner of the screen ensured to warn that "Mick Foley" was now trend on Twitter. Then when he left Mick Foley, he made sure to talk about Twitter. The Rock and John Cena made sure to put the next tag team match as secondary to his references of Twitter and what was trends. Michael Cole was read his Twitter rather than doing your fucking job and call the match. Returning from the commercial break, I was treated to a statistic of the utmost importance of a bitch: The Rock has more followers on Twitter than John Cena.

Excuse me for a second, this is about to move from one column to a full complaint...

I DO NOT FUCKING SHIT TO GIVE ABOUT TWITTER!

It is getting fucking ridiculous! There was more Twitter that fight last night, and the rate of exponential saturation, I live fight is going to turn into a crowd of 15,000 people in the sand with their smartphones to Tweet wrestlers instead of having them fucking reality wrestling!

By the way, do 38,000 of you actually take the time and the effort to go, "Wow, you know that black hole of charisma that sounds like he is swallowing a porcupine that appears on my TV every week"? "I want really to see what he has to say in 140 characters on Twitter!" 38,000 of you! Would even The Miz say, "Really"?

Some of us really want to write in complete sentences. Some of us really like language gave us and prefer not to turn it into a language that makes my brain explode when someone passes by the vocal effort vocally saying "L - L", apparently without being aware that L - L instead of laughing, saying is fucking lie because if they were laughing out loud, you don't have to say it because I have whore of shorthand text messages heard it, idiot!

Now, some of you may think I'm going a bit Gran Torino - "Get off my lawn" here, but I know that I cannot be the only annoying thing as hell Twitter is having on Monday Night RAW. I think that some people have even Twitter are getting fed up with her. The show is increasingly more focused on what it is trend and that is saying that the fight in the ring, and perhaps in a few months while fans Tweet with the fighters, the same fighters come to the ring and Tweet their movements to obtain "armbar" trends. Who can get their fastest trends movement wins the match! Well, if it is an overwhelming victory, which I will continue to post match attack!

"Ohmygod, King!" Do you have seen John dinner Tweet # ExtraAttitudeAdjustment there? Did it so fast that Mason Ryan # RYANSMASHTHINGS Tweet who won an additional adjustment of attitude by 84.000! It's so incredible! The aspect of face of Mason Ryan as feels extra digital adjustment of attitude while he is only there in confusion looking phone that do not attract you as many spectators next week! What an episode of Monday Night Raw for Twitter! "

While both, several places in the series, Zack Ryder continues confused me with how pumping fist and saying "Woo Woo Woo" made him popular. Still don't get me it.

Look, I'm not saying that I am half antisocial. I have a show to plug, books for sale and this column to share. But this column is usually professional wrestling. What if every week, I published a column that was going to be about wrestling, but instead wrote a 75 per cent of my column about the Civil War?

Yes, I say this seriously. What happens if you click column link of the in Laiman terms, presented a title implying "much struggle will be discussed in the form of column", but instead find fighting free discussion, you, I was explaining the winter of Falmouth after accusations has failed at altitudes of Fredericksburg Marye, and General Ambrose Burnside became a punchline?just as Alberto del Rio will become a perforation line when he lost to CM Punk? 75% of my column dedicated to something that many people don't understand and has nothing to do with the fight, but a reference thinly veiled wrestling scattered throughout? That's what I feel to 75 per cent of Monday Night Raw is on Twitter.

The 3-hour broadcast drew a rating 3.25 with an average of 4,74 million viewers. The last two hours (usual hours of premium) made a strong rating 3.37 (4.95 million viewers), in recent weeks. Here are the numbers per hour:

Viewers of the time 1: 4.31 million.
Viewers of hour 2: 5.00 million.
Viewers of the time 3: 4,91 million.

Again, for the ninth time in 12-week, bonuses lost hearing in the final hour.

USA Network Executive Ted Linhart tweeted the following about the qualifications of RAW on Monday:

"Key 18-49 demo 8. 00 pm: = 2 to 1 M (best 20: 00 one hour Raw from June 09) 9: 00 pm = 2 55 M (best from May) 10. 00 pm: = 2 to 6 M (better since April)..."
